MATCH OF THE ROUND (SATURDAY 2pm)
MT LOFTY VS NORWOOD Last year’s grand finalist enter this weekend’s rematch in contrasting fashion - with Norwood unbeaten atop the table and Mt Lofty languishing at the foot of the ladder and searching for its first win. Norwood have conquered all challenges so far in 2013, with the previously unbeaten USC the most recent casualty. Sam Halliday put in a powerful perfomance for Norwood, and with setter Tomas West also perfoming well the Bears will be hoping to continue their best start to a season since 2011. Under-strength Mt Lofty dropped a three-set contest to Austral Phoenix last week, dropping to bottom place in the process, and will be keen to open their account against the unbeaten Bears. MATCH OF THE ROUND (FRIDAY 8:30pm)
HENLEY VS USC LION The last remaining undefeated sides in the women’s competition clash in a Friday night classic at Brighton Secondary School. Henley have made an impressive start to the 2013 season, overcoming Norwood, Austral and South Adelaide in the first three rounds. The output of Zina Stone, Maddie Wakefield and Becchara Palmer has been a key behind the turnaround from last season when the Hawks’ women went winless. USC pose a massive challenge for Henley, as the Hawks look to defeat their third consecutive finalist from 2012. Lion has dropped only two sets en route to a 3-0 record, with passer-hitter Emma McEwen in impressive form in the early stages of the season. USC won all three meetings in 2012, only dropping one set. RECENT MEETINGS: RD 14, 2012
