Tennessee and Oregon began their 2010 seasons strong, each posting shutout victories in the first week. The Vols defeated UT Martin 50-0, while the Ducks upended New Mexico 72-0. For the Vols, the shutout of UT Martin marked their first season-opening whitewash in 17 years.

on a 58-yard run, and on UT’s next offensive play, Moore reached the end zone on a 42-yard reception from quarterback Matt Simms.
Saturday marks Derek Dooley’s first game facing against a ranked opponent as head coach of the Vols. Since 1970, the Vols are 2-2 in coaching debuts against teams in the top 25. Oregon is ranked 11th in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll.

Senior wide receiver Denarius Moore provided a pair of big plays for the Vols against UT Martin. He scored his first career rushing touchdown
The Vols are in the midst of a somewhat rare four-game homestand to start the season. The Vols went 3-1 in both 2004 and 2006 when playing most of September at Neyland Stadium.
