Christmas Goat Christmas celebration in a small town of Sweden, called Gävle, hold an odd story. It begun with the villagers of wanted to cheer this celebration with a “Yule Goat”. That is why they created the miniature of it, the straw goat. However, that straw goat burned to crisp mysteriously in the next month. Start with a Dream, End with an Achievement Interviewer: Shanna Budihardjo Writer: Randy Mulyanto Proofreader: Amelinda Adhitama Photos: Felicia Cornelia & Karina Florencia
In one fine afternoon, Vos+ decided to discover more leadership essences when it comes to achieving personal goals. Vos+ believes that Michael Wehandy is the right figure to learn from. Michael is currently serving as Operations Director at PT. Kollage Kreatif Global (kollage.co.id), while in the same time he is dedicates his time to become part time Faculty Member at Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics, BSD Campus. “Half entrepreneur, half lecturer,” said Michael after Vos+ asked him about words to describe him the best.
Michael emphasized that having goals is important. “Because if we don’t have any goals or any target, we will not go anywhere actually. We don’t have anything to achieve, so we will not do anything outstanding,” said him. In terms of achievements, Michael wisely stated that there must be some sort of achievement in every stage of his life. “Depend on how you look at it,” said Michael who proudly confirmed that being faculty member is one of his biggest achievements since teaching is one of his true passion.
Vos+ wanted to know what if there are people that Michael agreed that setting goals is important, but how did haven’t understood about their life goals yet. What he set his goals before he nailed those accomplishments? could’ve been done? “I think everyone should have dream. “Actually, I begin with dream. If you want to have And the most important thing is, how we achieve it. For goals, you have to start with dreams, like, people who don’t have long-time purpose yet, my suggeslong term dreams. “I believe every single process that we faced shapes us to be a better person, including all the bad things.” We then asked how does it feel like to him when he achieves something. “Sense of accomplishment,” said Michael. He added that the feeling is hard to describe as well. He also affirmed that having achievements is beyond important. “The happiness from inside that can’t be found everywhere else,” said Michael.
Is there any correlation between self-leadership and achieving goals? Of course, there is, at least in his perspective. “Self-leadership, for me, is needed to
achieve our goals. How we manage ourselves will impact the result,” said Michael.
“There is saying; ‘If you’re easy on yourself, the world will be hard on you – otherwise, if you’re hard on yourself, the world will be easy on you.’ So, I think self-leadership is to teach us to be hard to ourselves. If we treat ourselves hard, by having the self-leadership, we are driven by target, not feelings and that makes us able to achieve something.”
Vos+ altered the discussion just a little bit. Let’s talk about self-leadership else with Michael. What is his opinion about “Don’t give up and be persistent, as simple it then? He thinks self-leadership is how we manage as that.” ourselves; meanwhile leadership is all about how we manage people and everything. And here’s the one million Michael also told Vos+ not to give up to achieve our goals. dollar question: How do we develop our self-leadership? “As simple as that. Persistent,” Michael said. “Next lesson “For me, self-leadership starts with discipline. If we want to (in class)!” said Shanna, one of Vos+ members, jokingly. achieve something, we have to discipline ourselves – we Well, such a simple reminder on how we need to have to lead ourselves. We have to force ourselves constantly look upon ourselves, to always create big and because our tendency is to do all the bad habit. That’s why dream bigger. we should have self-leadership – we have to be able to manage ourselves.”

More Than Dracula Stories by Randy Mulyanto
Romania isn’t just about the Dracula in Transylvania. Romania isn’t just a country with old stories and architectures as well. In fact, Romania is a country filled with beauty that lies behind those old things. These are three of many interesting Romanian cities. Let’s stroll to these beauties!
TRAVEL | 10
Bucharest Being the capital of Romania, Bucharest is dubbed as Romania’s political and commercial center. Not as boring as it looks like, Bucharest actually hosts some interesting sites. For instance, take a stroll around Victory Avenue or Calea Victoriei in Romanian language. Here, you might pass through Cantacuzino Palace, beautiful palace of neoclassical architecture combined with art nouveau elements. The palace itself was built in late 19th century or early 20th century. Revolution Square is also around this avenue. The square was once the site of 1989 Revolution that ended communism in Romania. Don’t forget to explore Old Historical Center of Bucharest at Lipscani District. You’re about to spot lots of coffeehouses while enjoying the presence of various art galleries and antique shops.
Cluj-Napoca Although Cluj-Napoca is Romania’s second largest city, it doesn’t offer ‘your regular cityscape’. Cluj-Napoca, or Cluj for short, is considered as the unofficial capital to the historical province of Transylvania. Cluj has the most students throughout Romania. If you eventually make it here, you won’t only meet fellow students, but you’ll also have the chance to enjoy great architectures around. St Michael’s church, one of popular sites here, is in fact the best example of Gothic architecture in Romania.Banffy Palace also has well-preserved Romanian art pieces. Whenever you would like to seek some local vibes, walk up to the main square. You will feel the 18th to 19th century ambience through its architectures while you wait for your dinner to be served.
brasov If you decide to venture in Romania this winter, Brasov might be the right base to experience your ‘Romanian Winter’. People often start from Brasov to ski at Poiana Brasov or trek in Piatra Craiului National Park. However, Brasov isn’t just a ‘transit city’, which Brasov also has interesting history behind. Brasov was once the site of trade routes between Ottoman Empire and West Europe. Not only its intriguing history, you can walk through one of narrowest European streets. Then, don’t forget to have fun at Town Hall Square by admiring Baroque structures and colors all around.
