Paul Haas
Music Director & Conductor SoNA Music Director Paul Haas enjoys a distinctive career as conductor, composer and installation artist. His guest conducting engagements have included performances with Orchestra of St. Luke’s, San Antonio Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony, among others, as well as festival appearances. Over the last decade, he has written commissions for a wide variety of iconic venues, including the Park Avenue Armory and Rubin
Winona Fifield Violinist
Winona Fifield began playing the violin at the age of three in her mother’s native Japan. Upon returning to New York City she studied at the Juilliard School with Margaret Pardee. After leaving high school she was awarded the Ira Gershwin Scholarship to study at Indiana University where she was a pupil of renowned pedagogue Josef Gingold. Her other major teachers include Franco Gulli, Rostislav Dubinsky, and Igor Gruppman. Frequently invited as a guest principal violinist, Winona has lead the Seattle Symphony and the Orchestra of Opera North (UK) as Concertmaster, the Rotterdam Philharmonic as Assistant Concertmaster, and has been a guest principal with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she has worked with the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic. Winona has done numerous tours with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields where she has worked with
Mary Ann Greenwood Mary Ann Greenwood was a dedicated businesswoman, educator, philanthropist, leader, mentor, friend, mother and wife. She received her PhD in Economics from the University of Arkansas and founded Greenwood and Associates, an investment advisory firm, in 1982 that continues as Greenwood Gearhart Inc. She was an early industry adopter of the fiduciary advisory model and a national leader in the economics profession. Mary Ann was an ardent supporter of the University 4

Museum of Art in New York, Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, the Anchorage Museum of Art in Alaska and the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design in Fayetteville, Arkansas. In addition to his positions as Music Director of SoNA and the Thunder Bay Symphony in Ontario, Canada, Haas is the founder and Artistic Director of Sympho, a trailblazing concert production company that creates powerful and emotional musical experiences, collaborating with leading artists and using unexpected performance methods and unorthodox venues. Haas is a graduate of Yale University and The Juilliard School. He resides in Germantown, New York, with his wife and three children. Find out more at paulhaas.com.

In the US Winona has held principal positions with the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, Houston Ballet Orchestra, Albany Symphony, Tulsa Symphony and Tulsa Opera Orchestra. She is currently the Concertmaster of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, and the CoLeader of the Northern Ballet Sinfonia in the UK. Winona had given solo recitals at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall and Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium, where she was honored to performed a duo recital with concert pianist Grant Johannesen. An advocate of chamber music, Winona founded the Gruyere String Quartet which won top prizes at the Coleman and Carmel Chamber Music Competitions. She was invited as a participant in the prestigious Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, the Breckenridge Music Festival, the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Yehudi Menuhin Festiva in Gstaad Switzerland. Winona currently lives in Staffordshire, UK, where she enjoys cooking and looking after her energetic 4 year old son Dylan. She is privileged to play on a beautiful Cremonese violin by Carlo Bergonzi II made circa 1790.

She was the first to raise her hand to be involved, have a seat at the table, or attend an annual gala for numerous philanthropic endeavors. She was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her community, institution and public service. Her legacy will live on through the impact she made on these organizations and the mentoring of students and employees. Mary Ann, along with her husband Reed, was a staunch supporter of SoNA and was instrumental in the creation of the Maestro Circle, a group of donors dedicated to the organization’s long-term stability.
