VU-NT2 offers a new daytime course from August 2020: Dutch up to level B1. This extensive course is intended for people educated to pre-university level who want to learn Dutch alongside work. With two afternoons a week in four nine-week modules, you will reach level B1. One more week of specific State Exam training will enable you to pass the NT2 State Exam programme I and obtain your civic-integration diploma. If you then wish to continue to level B2, you can switch to the evening courses or join our groups in the morning classes.

Welcome to VU-NT2! In our daytime and evening courses you will learn the language skills you need in order to enjoy living in the Netherlands and to achieve success in your studies or at work. Our courses also introduce you to the culture and traditions of Dutch society and give you the opportunity to expand your network by meeting people with different nationalities, backgrounds and from different walks of life. The academic standards at VU-NT2 ensure that you will be enrolled in a high-quality course, specifically developed for participants who have completed an appropriate level of secondary education (comparable with Dutch HAVO or higher). • During the year there are several opportunities to join one of the group courses, from absolute beginner to advanced levels. You will be allocated to the best group for you according to your current level of proficiency. • Your focus will be on improving your spoken Dutch under the expert guidance of highly-skilled and experienced teachers. You will also receive feedback on written
homework assignments to help you improve your spelling, grammar, use of register and sentence structure. • The pace in all courses is reasonably fast. If you want to take full advantage of the course, it is essential that you also study at home. Please visit nt2.vu.nl for up-to-date information and information in Dutch. VU-NT2 is a member of the NUT (Dutch and Flemish Academic Language Centers) and a partner of INAmsterdam. VU-NT2 is licensed by Keurmerk Inburgering Blik op Werk (quality label for civic integration). VU and UAF (Foundation for Refugee Students) join forces to enable refugee students to (prepare for) study in the Netherlands.
