Community Law Canterbury
Is running a series of workshops for community groups. These workshops will be of particular interest to groups which are ‘incorporated societies’ i.e. groups with the word “Incorporated” or “Inc” at the end of their name.
This is because a new law has been passed for incorporated societies and it will affect the way these groups are run. All incorporated societies will have to update their constitutions, re-register their group and follow some new rules. This workshop is one of a series of workshops Community Law will be running to help local groups learn more about the new law. This workshop is open to those on the Board/Committee of a local incorporated society and to those who are managers of those groups. Please note that priority will be given to groups which don’t already have professional advisers. If you’d like to find out more about these workshops, please check Community Law Canterbury’s Facebook page or email communityeducation@canlaw.org.nz
