Knowledge has profound power over human beings. Open your eyes, change your feelings and make your voice cry out for a better world. Transforming and reinventing the primary education of municipalities is transforming lives and stories. This is what the Suzano Municipal Education Department seeks in all its activities: reinventing itself to change the lives of every student who goes through the municipal public education system.

Waking up early, getting ready to go to school, walking to school, and spending moments of great exchange there with colleagues and teachers. This was the routine of thousands of students in Suzano’s municipal education system until 2020, when the new coronavirus pandemic changed our lives and the educational system.

A teaching model used so long ago needed to be rediscovered. Face-to-face classes were no longer viable for the health of students, teachers, and all employees of colleges and educational institutions.

Knowledge Platform

The online world was introduced to many, and in Suzano, it received a particular name, “Plataforma do Saber”, a place of embarkation for new worlds. The tool, created in April 2021 by the Department of Education, is a digital platform. Through this portal, students follow classes, watch videos and perform tasks entirely online. Simultaneously, the program “Cola Aí” was developed, which is displayed once a month on Facebook and on the official channel of the Suzano City Hall on Youtube with several fun activities.

Content such as storytelling, activities for children, and extra materials are available on the Suzano City Hall’s YouTube, the ‘Tv Prefeitura de Suzano’ (bit.ly/ TVPrefeituradeSuzano) and are updated weekly.

Besides, to serve students who do not have access to the Internet, the department produced printed material and delivered literature and textbooks. And each school had the autonomy to develop its content.
