Quality of live for all live beings
The Barueri Natural Resources and Environment Department (Sema), expanded several projects to increase the quality of life in the city. In the work with domestic animals, the Municipal Administration is committed and made possible in 2019 about 500 adoptions of dogs and cats. The free spaying and neutering program microchipped about 4,200 domestic animals in the last year (since 2017, 8,000 animals have been served) and started to be scheduled online. Another service that was expected and has had a good return in Barueri is Animal Rescue, which collects street animals, injured or at risk, for treatment and adoption. received animals seized by the Environmental Military Police and other bodies in the region. They were treated and repatriated (returned) to their place of origin. For example, tortoises and iguanas that were victims of trafficking, after being treated, were sent to Bahia. Cetas also warned about the risk of “cerol”, kyte lines with glass, which can injure, mutilate and kill birds like owls and helped to send materials and medicines to animals injured by fires in the Amazon region. The Clean Lot project helps in preservation and brings benefits to the janitorial. Parque Taddeo Cananéia, at Parque Imperial, was revitalized and reopened, bringing leisure to the community.
