Large investments in health with big returns to the population
The year 2019 was marked as the year of major deliveries in the sector. The municipality aims to offer a “first world” level service to residents. Barueri appeared among the Brazilian cities that invest the most in the sector, according to a survey by the Federal Council of Medicine. The expansion of the Hemodialysis Center Dr. Sandra Vicenza Sarno was officially delivered at the end of March, tripling the service capacity (from 100 to 300) per month. Before, there were only 24 dialysis chairs available and today there are 68 stations, more than enough for the city’s demand. Also in March, the new UBS Julio Lizart was also inaugurated, in Vale do Sol, long awaited by the local community. The following month, UBS Raquel Sandrini Ruela, at Jardim Maria Helena, was reopened in a new, larger building with more specialties available. Another important work delivered was that of the three Psychosocial Care Centers (Caps) in May, each

with its own space and fully equipped with the best. In August, the Vanderson César de Almeida Institute of Basic and Advanced Health Care was inaugurated in Jardim Paulista. One of the greatest works ever carried out by Barueri, the Diagnostics Center - the largest in the public sector in Brazil - opened its doors to citizens also in August, providing the most modern and advanced in terms of clinical technology to the population and carrying out thousands of exams for free every month. The delivery of the Diagnostics Center, in fact, was the moment for the announcement of another major achievement in the health of the entire region: the construction of the Regional Hospital, in partnership with the State Government and the Barueri City Hall. To close the year, at the end of October, UBS Hélio Berzaghi, from Jardim Paulista, received its building back, now completely revitalized.
