Significant advances in care for the population
The Assistance and Social Development Department (SADS) recorded good results in the areas in which it operates in 2019. In housing, land tenure regularization has advanced and the granting of social rent as well. The number of diapers for families in need has increased and wet wipes and cream against diaper rash have been added to the kit. Social services visited 1,652 families. As demands arose, referrals were made. 22 mothers completed the process of the program Empório Mães Cuidadoras I and Empório Mães Cuidadoras II has already started, also with 22 mothers. The first group of ReNascer has already changed its life. In the second phase, 26 people who are sheltered in Cáritas are taking courses and will have employment opportunities.

Affective sponsorship, which consists of providing a sponsor to a child or adolescent who is taken in, has been implemented. Funded by Santander, it will continue in 2020. The eyeglasses store that make the glasses donated by SADS is now inside the headquarters building, bringing more comfort to the population. In 2019, the Warm Clothing Campaign also deserved mention, with more than 69 thousand new items, a large collection of solidarity campaigns for Graacc, AACD and Apae, training in the Fashion Centers, Parque da Maturidade and income generation program, expansion of Profesp, renovation of several housing units and the delivery of more than 50,000 Christmas toys.
