NON-DESTRUCTIVE MATERIALS TESTING INDUSTRIAL COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) Our modern CT scanners allow precise examinations of components made of metal or polymers as well as electronic assemblies. 3D models with the highest resolution are calculated from hundreds of individual images. Applications range from defect analysis and precise measurement of components, to non-destructive assembly inspection and reverse engineering. DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY (DR) State-of-the-art equipment ensures rapid detection of volume defects in almost any material - and their clear display on a monitor. In addition to locating obstructed or missing parts in closed assemblies, DR also enables series testing of components with fully automated image evaluation for defined defect characteristics (ADR). RADIOGRAPHY (RT) Large components and assemblies are radiographed piece by piece or partially to detect volume defects in the material. Subsequently, detected inhomogeneities, foreign materials, or loosenings are displayed on X-ray films. Qualified specialists carry out the inspection and evaluation of the films in a mobile X-ray laboratory directly on site. ULTRASONIC INSPECTION (UT, IUT) Ultrasonic testing allows reliable and fast detection of volume defects in components of almost any dimension and numerous materials. For ultrasonic testing in immersion technology, we use an automated immersion system and can test components automatically in series.
MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING (MT) MT testing is used to find surface defects on magnetizable materials. With our state-of-the-art machinery, we reliably and economically perform individual and large series inspections - in the production line, on-site at the construction site, as well as on large structures.
EDDY CURRENT TESTING (ET) As one of the most versatile testing methods of all, the ET method offers high automation potential for testing large quantities. The range of applications includes crack testing, weld seam testing, testing for hardness differences as well as material mix-ups. We offer on-site testing as well as the development of special solutions according to customer requirements.

PENETRANT TESTING (PT) A reliable test method for individual parts and as an automated series test for finding existing surface defects in non-magnetizable materials, for example in cast aluminum or forged parts. The preferred application is for non-ferrous metals and austenitic steels, but the method can also be used for plastics or ceramics. Our PT testing center is located in Altbach near Stuttgart. With a capacity of up to 14,000 parts per day, it is one of the largest facilities in Europe. Forged aluminum parts are inspected for surface defects in two inspection lines with wheel blast machines and downstream penetration systems. Defective components are reworked and re-inspected directly on site. Testing is carried out according to customer requirements or international standards such as ISO 3452.
VISUAL INSPECTION (VT) AND SORTING WORK Through visual inspection, we ensure compliance with specific requirements for the visual quality of your products, with a focus on defects or corrosion. At the same time, we can check your components for dimensional accuracy, shape tolerance, and material mix-up. According to your individual requirements, our specialists can also design and build special structures or arrangements to meet your needs. CUSTOMER-SPECIFIC TESTING Test arrangements and test setups are developed together with you according to your needs and then put into practice based on our know-how. Thanks to our wide-ranging expertise from all industries with corresponding practical experience, we are also in a position to specifically break new ground in the testing of your components. REWORK Non-destructive serial testing uncovers defects that can be efficiently eliminated by professional rework. According to your specifications, we develop customized concepts for defect elimination by grinding, milling or other machining processes.
ON-SITE TESTING SERVICES If components cannot be delivered to us for scheduling reasons, due to process sequences or their size, we will come to you. Our team also carries out most non-destructive testing procedures on a mobile basis and tests in front of the assembly line as well as in the steel warehouse. Your advantage: The components remain in the production process, thus avoiding time losses due to additional transports.

DESTRUCTIVE MATERIALS TESTING MECHANICAL-TECHNOLOGICAL TESTING Using modern universal testing machines for forces, our team tests all common specimen shapes of the most diverse standards for mechanical properties. Tensile tests, compression tests, bending tests as well as component-related special tests are used for this purpose.
CHARPY IMPACT TESTING Our modern pendulum impact tester (450 J) enables extensive notched bar impact testing of all standard specimens from ISO-V to DVM-K specimens at temperatures down to -70° C.
HARDNESS TESTING We use all common hardness testing methods such as Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell, and Knoop to determine the hardness of your materials or components. We also offer the option of mobile hardness testing at your site.
METALLOGRAPHY We prepare common metals for classical microscopy. On modern reflected light microscopes (HF, DF, Pol, C-Dic) the most different metallic phases are represented and electronically documented.
OPTICAL EMISSION SPECTROSCOPY (OES) This test method is used for material identification. We quickly and reliably determine the chemical composition of different alloys under laboratory conditions. Our scope includes alloys based on Fe, Al, Ni, Cu, Mg, Zn, and Ti.
MOBILE POSITIVE MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION WITH OES AND XRF In X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF), the chemical composition is tested without a focal spot on the workpiece. In this process, our employees ensure a flexible and rapid deployment. If required, we carry out positive material identification or full analyses with mobile equipment at your site.

SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM) WITH EDX Our scanning electron microscope allows the evaluation of small and very small metallographic samples as well as the fractographic examination of fracture surfaces. In parallel, qualitative as well as quantitative elemental analyses on small particles or coatings can be performed with the connected energy dispersive X-ray system (EDX). FAILURE ANALYSIS Failure analysis is an important method for improving products and manufacturing processes. We determine the causes of the failure of defective metallic components and assemblies for you. Based on many years of know-how, we look at the entire system to find the source of the failure as it is often a combination of several influencing factors. CORROSION TESTING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SIMULATIONS An important part of successful quality assurance are environmental simulations, including corrosion testing. In the laboratory, equipment simulates atmospheric influences such as salt spray, condensation, ventilation, drying, humid, cool, and freezing climates. After a relatively short time, corrosion tests in the laboratory provide reproducible results. To assess the quality of corrosion protection measures on individual components and complete assemblies, we test according to various standards and regulations, for example: · salt spray according to DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS/AASS/CASS · condensation water test according to DIN EN ISO 6270-2 · condensation water test with SO2 according to DIN 50018 · combined corrosion change test according to PV1209 · UV weathering tests · thermal shock tests TECHNICAL CLEANLINESS ANALYSIS We have a fully equipped laboratory for determining the technical cleanliness of components. Our experienced specialists perform analyses based on common standards such as VDA 19.1 and ISO 16232 - or develop specific analysis methods according to your requirements.
ON-SITE SERVICES We are happy to accommodate you with our mobile equipment: We can perform important test procedures directly on site - a service that minimizes idle time and production downtime at your facility.
