Joy After an evening snowfall, the morning sun rises behind Greenwood, the Wartburg College president’s residence. Built in 1871, it is a historically notable example of the bracketed Italianate architectural style popular at the time. Originally a 300-acre working farm, it was acquired by the college in 1987. After significant restoration and preservation, Greenwood is now a thoroughly modern home and beloved gathering place for college friends.
Wartburg College is dedicated to challenging and nurturing students for lives of leadership and service as a spirited expression of their faith and learning.
The King shall come when morning dawns, and light triumphant breaks; When beauty gilds the eastern hills, and life to joy awakes. Excerpt from “The King Shall Come,” Advent hymn Text by John Brownlie, 1859-1925, Public domain
Wishing you the everlasting light and joy of this blessed Christmas season.
