Preeti didn’t know Abhay was a star

ollywood actor Preeti Desai has been dating actor Abhay Deol for about four years now. The two are going quite steady. Interestingly, Preeti didn’t know Abhay was a film actor. On a TV show, Abhay has admitted that Preeti was unaware of his ‘movie actor’ status, when they first met Since the starlet is UK born and bred, Preeti only knew the names of the Bollywood biggies. “She knew superstars and not lesser actors like me (sic),” said Abhay. However, all that changed when Preeti met Abhay for the first time at the success party of his movie, Dev D
(2009). It was then that Preeti got to know of Abhay, as she watched the movie before heading to the party. Preeti made her Bollywood debut in Shor in the City (2011). Abhay, also confessed on the show that he didn’t even look at the hoardings of his debut film, Socha Na Tha (2005). And that’s because the actor “hated the hairstyle” in the movie. HTC

Saket Chaudhary (director) came over and said, “I want you in this film.” I made a deal with him saying that I would do it if he would let me be totally ridiculous, and called it a ‘senseless appearance’,” says Vir. Thus started the process of creating a character named Manav. “Manav is the most irritating person I can think of... we improvised and it turned out to be something wonderfully stupid,” Vir added.

rasoon Joshi, who wrote the script of the biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB), which was based on the life of sprinter Milkha Singh, recently said he wants to write more scripts based on real life personalities and has few people in mind. The 43-yearold lyricist-turned-scriptwriter said BMB will always remain close to his heart as it is his first film as a scriptwriter. “I wish to write more films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in the future. There are so many personalities in
real life on whom films can be based. I will definitely write scripts based on their lives,” said Joshi. On being asked to name a few, he shared, “There are so many political and spiritual figures around us, about whom the audience would like to know. I have some in my mind.” Joshi, however, added that he would like to be given creative freedom while writing scripts based on real life personalities, which he said was given to him immensely by athlete Milkha Singh while scripting the film. “I would like to write on personalities who would give me the same kind of freedom that Milkha gave me. He gave me full liberty, he wasn’t conscious at all about how the film would come out,” he said. Sharing an example, he said, “I chose not to include the character of Milkha’s brother in the script, though he played a bigger role in his life, and Milkha agreed to it.”

mitabh Bachchan (left) says at 71 he finds dancing “incongruous”, but nevertheless, he enjoys it only if the retakes are within “tolerable limits”. Amitabh was last seen on the silver screen in Satyagraha and is currently shooting for his upcoming film Bhootnath Returns, a sequel to the 2008 horror comedy film Bhootnath. “Its been a while, since I shook my body to dance on camera. Now at 71, it does seem incongruous. But truth be told, it’s exceedingly enjoyable, so long as the number of takes are within tolerable limits,” Big B posted on his blog recently. He also appreciated the work of choreographer Ganesh Acharya, and said that he is the “one that has created some of the most unusual moves in the movies, and the one whose dance moves look incredibly graceful, despite his enormous girth.”Amitabh then said Acharya informed him that he was one of the group dancers in his 1990 film Agneepath during the sequence where he takes Lord Ganesha for immersion. “Today he is an accomplished director of dance, has directed a film and produced it, opened a dance stage and a kind of school for training, and continues to devour tons and tons of kaaju,” Big B tweeted.
