Have a few tests to do: SRK after injury

Actor Abhay Deol and girlfriend Preeti Desai interacted with fans at HT City

THE DUDE AND HIS MUSE A

ctor-couple Abhay Deol and Preeti Desai recently visited the HT House in Delhi to meet and greet the winners of HT City’s Stars in the City contest. In a fun chat s ession — moderated by HT City Editor, Sonal Kalra — the two spoke about their upcoming film One by Two, danced with fans, and even gave tips on relationships. Here are excerpts from the session.

Abhay and I have been together for four years and we’re happy. Why should we put a stamp on what we have? I’d think of marriage when I want to have kids Preeti Desai, actor

Q. Abhay, we were almost expecting to see you with a fake bruised eye (sported by him at a recent event to show support for musicians’ rights for royalty). Hmm… My team has been telling me that. But I guess, I’ve made my point. I want everyone from the industry to wear a bruised eye now. At least, those who stand up for what I said.

Q. Has the matter been resolved to your satisfaction?

It has been resolved to the extent that I have One by Two’s music rights back so we can exploit our music the way we want.

A But is this a final resolution? No. Because this is a fight music labels and musicians that was happening even before my movie. And you saw through my movie, how a producer can get caught between the cross fire and suffer. Until the music companies, musicians and lyricists sit across the table and sort out the issue, it will continue to crop up time and again.

Q. Preeti, your last film, Shor In The City, released in 2011. What took you so long to decide on the next movie? After Shor…, I wanted to take things seriously in Bollywood. I didn’t want to jump into something without knowing about it. I needed time to soak in India - the culture, industry and its people.

Q. Is it true that when Preeti met Abhay for the first time, she didn’t know who he was? (Preeti): Yes. I didn’t know the Indian film industry at all as I was brought up in England. I was invited to Dev D’s success party. So, I went to watch the film first and saw that Abhay was its lead actor. CHETNA DUA

Next Bigg Boss on a new channel? T

he next season of popular reality TV show, Bigg Boss, might be aired on Hindi general entertainment channel Life OK, instead of Colors, says a source from the former channel. There have been a total of seven seasons of the show.

After its debut on Sony Entertainment Television, the remaining six seasons were beamed on Colors. According to sources from Life OK, the eighth season will air on their channel. However, when contacted, Deepak Dhar, managing director of Endemol India,

which produces the show, denied any such change. “No, this news is untrue. The show is on Colors,” he responded via SMS. While actor Salman Khan hosted the last four seasons, Arshad Warsi hosted the first one. Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan turned

host for the second and third seasons, respectively. The show is an Indian adaptation of Big Brother. The last season titled, Bigg Boss - Saath 7, was won by model-turned-actor Gauahar Khan. Even while the seventh season was on , their was

speculation that host Salman Khan would produce the next season due to differences between the channel and producers. Khan was apparently unhappy as the channel had hidden some show related matters from him. IANS

ctor Rucha Hasabnis (right) has quashed reports of her wanting to quit the hit show, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, where she plays the character of Rashi. “I, too, heard these rumours but I have no clue where they are coming from,” said the actor, who was recently quoted by a Mumbai tabloid saying that she is going to quit the show this year and is already in talks with the channel that airs it. Interestingly, the show that revolves around two sistersturned-bahus will now have some new twists, whereby Rucha’s character will get more prominence. “She (Rucha) was not happy with the way her role was developing and had threatened to walk out. That’s when the makers decided to change the storyline and make Rashi the central character,” says a source close to the channel. Ask Rucha about it, and she rubbishes it completely. “That’s absolutely not true! I never threatened a nybody of quitting the show. In fact, the beauty of this show is that it is a situational drama and the plot moves very fast. So now if the storyline is changing and my character is getting more prominence, it’s because of the natural flow and not because of me threatening to walk out,” says Rucha, who’s very excited about the change, nevertheless.
