t was sobriety personified at Shruti, the annual fest of Indraprastha College for Women, held in the Capital recently. The first day started with events that ranged from the usual to the quirky. From a street football competition and rangoli, to an on-the-spot photography exhibition and newspaper dressing, the opening received great response from various colleges around the city. The second day was marred by unseasonal, heavy rains, but that certainly did not dampen the spirits as some of the most popular contests were shifted indoors. It included a street play contest, as well as western dance and music competitions. With the weather in place, the concluding day saw a quiz competition, a public speaking contest and the big finale – a performance by fusion music band Rock Veda. Cut away from any mayhem that usually accompanies college fests these days, the IP college celebration certainly got a thumbs up for both its performances, as well as its behaviour.
