I don’t look at someone’s relationship and say, ‘Theirs is perfect’. Because nothing is. Life is imperfect KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN, ACTOR

n Sunday, curtains closed on Amazon India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017, organised by Fashion Design Council of India. The last day of the five-day gala at NSIC Grounds, Okhla, saw a focus on menswear and accessory designers, before the Grand Finale took over the runway. And, what a finale it was! Based on the theme of guru-shishya parampara, design veteran JJ Valaya along with duo AlpanaNeeraj showcased a collection that merged the design aesthetics of both. Alpana, who was Valaya’s student for five years, called the show an experience like no other.

PC’S NEXT STOP: ELLEN DEGENERES’ SHOW

S

he has been a guest on talk shows by Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. And now, actor Priyanka Chopra will reportedly be seen on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Oct 25, alongside actor Vince Vaughn and musical act Joseph. Meanwhile, PeeCee, who was slammed for wearing a T-shirt with an insensitive message for refugees and immigrants, has apologised, saying she “felt horrible that so many sentiments had been hurt unintentionally”.

Shatrughan Sinha lashes out at Anurag Kashyap for criticising PM Modi Subhash K Jha

A

ctor and politician Shatrughan Sinha is known for being outspoken. And the 70-yearold, who is part of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), is perplexed and annoyed by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s views on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pakistan policy. On Sunday, Kashyap tweeted to Modi, “Sir, you haven’t yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM. It was December 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM. Why?”

Reacting swiftly and in his inimitable way, Sinha says, “Firstly, let me make it very clear that I am very fond of Anurag and his brother Abhinav. Having said that, I’d also like to say that I am extremely proud of our Prime Minister, the dashing dynamic action hero Narendra Modi Ji, for all the efforts that he has made in the past to bring peace between the two countries. Let’s not undermine our PM’s brave efforts just because at this moment those efforts seem to have come to a deadlock.” Sinha says he is also puzzled

about why Anurag’s drew a parallel between the PM’s surprise visit to Pakistan on December 25 with Karan Johar’s film. “This doesn’t make any sense to me. Let’s not trivialise our PM’s historic visit, which every country in the world praised. I fail to understand the connection between the PM’s flash-visit to Pakistan and Karan Johar’s film. Nor do I understand the connection between Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap,” adds Shatrughan. n

Kareena Kapoor Khan says it’s sad that people have a ‘herd mentality’ of comparing two relationships

Rukmini Chopra

A

ctor Kareena Kapoor Khan has always been open about her relationships, be it her courtship with actor Shahid Kapoor or the fact that she was in a live-in relationship with actor Saif Ali Khan for five years before marrying him in 2012. The to-be parents are going strong, which is refreshing to see these days, as several celeb couples such as Hrithik Roshan-Sussanne Khan and Farhan AkhtarAdhuna Akhtar, have called it quits. Kareena says that news of these break-ups hasn’t caused

her to worry about her own equation with Saif. “I don’t understand why one has to club two relationships, as that makes no sense,” says Kareena, adding that what happens with one person may not happen to another. The 36-year-old believes that comparing relationships stems from a “herd mentality”. “I don’t look at someone’s relationship and say, ‘Oh their relationship is perfect’. Because nothing is perfect. Life is imperfect. I sincerely think people should stop comparing relationships. This herd mentality is really sad. It needs to break,” she says. Kareena, who is in the last

trimester of her pregnancy, has had a successful career. But she doesn’t consider herself as the right person to give tips to women who think of her as a role model. “(All I can say is) stay healthy and remain fit. Women should continue with what they are doing in life, as that’s the most important thing,” she says. The actor also appears to be content with what she has in life. “I’m very happy with what I have right now. I’m just a happy person generally. I’m very comfortable around my family and friends,” says Kareena. n

ew people in the country would have known about 25-yearold Delhi-girl Akansha Sharma, till she revealed on TV show, Bigg Boss, on Sunday night that she was married to cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s younger brother, Zorawar. While speaking about herself on the show, Akansha said the marriage lasted just four months, after which she decided to walk out of the house. Though she did not divulge too many details, she indirectly accused her mom-in-law, Shabnam Singh, of ill-treating her and blamed her for the failed marriage. Talking exclusively to HT City, Shabnam says, “This matter is sub judice and she (Akansha) is not allowed to speak. Anyone can understand the agenda here and everybody knows it.” Reacting to the allegation of cruelty, Yuvi’s mother says, “Somebody has to take the

brunt, so it’s fine if it’s me. God Bless is all I can say to her. Even I have my side of the story, but I just don’t want to get into any mud-slinging.” Surprised that Akansha has decided to speak up after two-and-a-half years, Shabnam adds, “People must know that we were the ones who first filed the divorce because we had some really strong reasons. If she had to take any action against any alleged cruelty, she could have filed a case back then. She’s speaking now since she has a platform.”
