NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE Capturing the best of men’s street style at the recently concluded fashion week

W

e spotted some stylesavvy men, at the recently concluded Amazon India Fashion Week, who made an arresting sight in their dandiest best outfits. From rocking the military look like a pro that panders masculinity, these men gave us some major style inspiration. While the runway has always been a place for taking style tutorials, we didn’t mind taking a lesson or two from these men on how to dress up

sharp and make a long lasting impact. These men follow the nonconformist way that gets portrayed with utmost swagger. Like a classic white shirt and denims will never be passé, blogger Jeremy Cabral shows us how to style it right. If you are wary of experimenting with tone-ontone, designer Jimmy Easternlight Zimik slays it in the look. Here’s more inspo for you folks.

STYLE IT RIGHT: Set the temperatures soaring in a cashmere dress and team it with high leather boots to get the look. A choker instead of a scarf can also be the perfect accessory. And don’t forget to put on a stylish pair of shades as you saunter down the streets.

his winter, give your old rusty boots a makeover. You can repair your damaged boots with leather soap and leather oil. Take a leather soap on a cloth and apply it on the boot and gently spread it in a circular motion. After cleaning them put them aside to dry. Your shoes will turn a few shades darker. Now, take leather oil and apply it on the boots. Massage the oil on the leather by using dry cloth. This process will restore the

hink Karva Chauth and images of women decked in full traditional glory, replete with sindoor and jingling bangles come to mind. That’s the beauty of women, who juggle different worlds at one time, and make it all look like a cakewalk. These women work hard, party harder and keep the fast — without making a fuss. We spoke to a few ladies from the city’s fashion and art fraternity to tell us their fondest memories from the day. n

‘I’VE DONE THE KARVA CHAUTH POOJA AT FASHION WEEK’ Model Krishna Somani says, ”Two years back, Karva Chauth coincided with the fashion week and we actually did the pooja at the venue. It’s mind over matter when you are fasting.” Krishna added that card games with family act as a distraction while they fast during Karva Chauth.

‘I (ALMOST) ATE DURING MY FAST’ Artist Ina Puri recounts her ‘close’ Karva Chauth encounter. “I am a Bengali, married to a Punjabi. My mother-in-law told me that they kept the fast and I was happy to keep it too. When my son was young, I was feeding him rice and fish, and by mistake, was about to put in my mouth (the way you show kids how to eat). I spat it out immediately!” PHOTO: NATASHA HEMRAJANI/HT

‘I GOT MUGGED ON KARVA CHAUTH!’

‘I HAVE MIXED UP KARVA CHAUTH DATES’

“A decade back, I had gone shopping for Karva Chauth. I bought earrings, an expensive lipstick and had the remaining cash on me. A motorcyclist snatched my bag! I was more worried about the lipstick than anything else, a brand which was really sought after,” laughed designer Reynu Taandon.

Fashion choreographer Aparna Bahl Bedi says because of her busy schedule, she has confused Karva Chauth dates. She says,“I had mixed the date of the celebrations a few years back. I woke up and had my normal dose of lemon water, realising later that it was Karva Chauth.” PHOTO: RAAJESSH KASHYAP/HT
