ant to make a bold statement this festive season? We bring you inspiration to rock earmakeup. The ear-makeup trend has been popping up on the ramp for a while now. It was first seen at the Paris Fashion Week two years ago. Models rocking ear-makeup were also seen at the recently-concluded New York Fashion Week. Fashion bloggers, too, seem to be in love with the fun trend. Many of them recreated the look with their own twist. “Ear makeup is going to be a popular trend. Girls who like to experiment with their looks and want to showcase creativity through their makeup will love it,” says makeup artist Aashmeen Munjal. Makeup artist Naina Arora agrees. “After ear cuffs, ear makeup is the new big thing. You can try elaborate designs for your festive look, while the subtler ones work for all occasions,” she says. And if you thought boys can’t rock the trend, you are mistaken. “Boys can also try this trend. Simple, abstract designs can work well for guys,” says makeup artist Nitima Khanduja.
GOTH IT RIGHT Boys can also rock ear makeup. This minimal design is perfect for you. Just paint your ear lobe black with water proof eyeliner like Akshay Kaushal of HT City. Colour your tragus as well. Finish with pearls.

This look, as seen on Lakshana Palat of HT City, is what you should go for when you want to ace old-world glam. Choose a pop colour to paint your ear. Add black stones and wear a delicate thread earring. Wear this look to a disco date.
PLAY IT BY EAR To begin, draw lines with lip liner to create different patterns. Fill up colours using your lip colour or eye shadow. Spruce with pearls, glitter, sequins and stones using eyelash glue. Remember that there are no rules in makeup – use your imagination and create your own fun designs (Inputs and photos by makeup artists Naina Arora and Nitima Khanduja)
Channel the freewheeling nomad in you with this design a la Prerna Gauba of HT City. Create diagonal strips of bright colours such as blue and pink. Add stones in between and finish off with a striking earring. Rock this look on a fun outing with friends.
