“C
onformity is the only real fashion crime. To not dress like yourself is succumbing to fashion fascism,” believes writer and fashion commentator Simon Doonan. We can’t agree more, as we present to you season 2 of HT City Print Fashion Week, a unique fiesta that features bridal and cocktail collections of India’s top designers. Bringing you inspiration to break free from fashion clichés, we showcase Bollywood’s favourite couturier Manish Malhotra’s Winter/Festive 2016 collection on Day 1. Blending old and new in an enchanting mix, the collection celebrates Indian craftsmanship teamed with silhouettes designed keeping in mind the modern, uninhibited wedding entourage. Adorned with resham threadwork, floral motifs and intricate hand embroidery, it re-imagines traditional wear in a modern context.
