Actor Ashton Kutcher is kicked about going into orbit after becoming the 500th customer to sign up for British tycoon Richard Branson’s space ship. Branson, whose Virgin Galactic service is in its “final stages” of flight tests, wrote on his blog: “Ashton is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us.” Kutcher, 34, re-tweeted Branson’s post.

I still miss them sometimes, but I don’t want to go back to them. The past is past. I am not among those who love someone at a time and hate them later. But I always cherish memories,” she said on her visit to the HT House on Monday. The actor, who is now harbouring dreams of tying the knot with her “soulmate” on Swayamvar Season 4 – Veena Ka Vivaah, also shared that she was “upset” at Pakistan’s loss to India in Sunday’s ODI match. “I have been here for one-and-half years now, but I will always root for Pakistan. Peace talks, relationships between the two countries are all good, but when it comes to a match between India and Pakistan, it’s serious cricket and nothing else,” she said.

he much-awaited opening ceremony of the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be a grand spectacle, as international pop star Katy Perry will perform on the big night. Apart from the American singer, Bollywood biggies Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan, along with southern superstar Prabhu Deva — who is choreographing his own act — will also deliver power-packed acts at the event, to be held on April 3 at Chennai’s YMCA College of Physical Education. “We look forward to Ms. Perry’s participation at the IPL 2012 Opening Nite. A performer of her calibre makes the occasion even more special for the players, organisers and fans,” says IPL Chairman, Rajeev Shukla, adding: “This year’s
ceremony will be something that’s never been seen before in IPL.” Others who’ll be performing are Colonial Cousins — the band formed by singer Hariharan and singer-composer Leslie Lewis, and international artist Ravi Drums. “It will be a twohour event. Shiamak Davar is putting together the show, and Mudassar Khan will choreograph Salman’s performance,” reveals Sabbas Joseph of Wizcraft, the company that is managing the event. Contrary to reports, Big B is not hosting the event.
