‘The high level of dancing was also a great pleasure, particularly in its authority and a classical purity that is rare today’ THE NEW YORK TIMES
One of the few 19th century Romantic ballets to survive intact, Giselle tells of a village girl whose everlasting love saves her beloved from a wretched dance to the death. The Nutcracker is a delightfully festive tale, and the perfect introduction to ballet, as Clara is whisked away on a fairy-tale adventure by her Nutcracker prince.

What Osmonds will the audiences see perform in The Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular and how will you tie the show in with Andy’s music?
When an audience comes to see an Osmond concert, you’ve got Merrill, Jay and myself, the original Osmond Brothers. We know they want to hear some of our hit records, and they’ll also get to hear the Andy Williams hit records we sang on and made famous with Andy that people love to hear. What made you want to bring The Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular to the U.K.?
You are bringing the Christmas show you perform in Branson, Missouri to the U.K. this holiday season...
THE OSMOND’S
JIMMY OSMOND
SPOT LIGHT ON
Yes, we’re very excited to bring The Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular to the U.K. You know, in America, it’s become a Christmas tradition, and of course, the show has all of the elements that we all grew up watching on TV. And it’s especially fulfilling and a blast for me to produce a show, and keep the legacy alive, from the very man that made it happen for all of us, Mr. Andy Williams. It seems the Osmonds have been performing for quite a span of time, and you’ve somewhat come full circle with this show you are bringing to the U.K., aren’t you?
Yes, we have been going a long time! My very first performance was on Andy Williams’ TV show - I was three years old and I haven’t stopped since! My brothers and I still do 200 shows a year and we love what we do, we really do. It’s really interesting, when we look out into the audience of an Osmond concert, or in this case, an Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular show, we see everybody agegroup wise from grandma who watched the show initially, to the crowd who followed us when we had all of our hit records in the 1970s, to the young kids who are learning about our music for the first time. It is really exciting to produce a show that can appeal to all ages. What type of music can we expect to hear?
Of course, you can expect to hear Osmond hit records and Andy Williams hit records. Because we were Andy’s background singers, we’re a part of his legacy, so we’re the perfect group to keep that legacy alive. And, of course, that was Andy’s wish. As a matter of fact, he left us some footage, as well as his recorded voice, so we could perform with him as long as we wanted to. He wanted to keep his style, his brand if you will, alive long after he was gone and people just crave it.
I’ve been honored to carry on Andy’s legacy by taking on his beautiful theatre in Branson, Missouri. However, Andy’s fans, as well as ours, reach out worldwide, so I wanted to expand the Christmas aspect of his legacy by taking the show on a U.K. tour after we finish up at The Andy Williams Moon River Theatre for the season. I think people want to go to a show where they know all the words to the songs so they can sing along and be a part of it. We learned a long time ago from Andy Williams, that it wasn’t about us as performers, it was about us helping the audience to remember their lives when we were all lucky enough to be on the radio and TV. I don’t know what it is about the U.K., we love it there and feel at home when we perform there. I guess every performer loves to perform where they feel a part of it all and accepted by the audience. And you folks really know your music history, so you remember some of our hit records from the past, and that makes it more fun for everybody. So, you are bringing us a traditional variety
show, paying tribute and carrying on the legacy of the great Andy Williams with this Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular.
Yes, with any artist, their legacy becomes bigger when they are no longer with us, and that is the case with Andy Williams’ legacy. I remember when I was over in the U.K. last year, every radio station I turned on, I heard, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” Andy Williams was Mr. Christmas, he made it so much fun. This show really is a fast-paced, family-friendly variety show, just like it used to be...all wrapped up with a bow on top!
Jimmy Osmond will be performing alongside his brothers, Merrill and Jay, at Watford Colosseum on Sunday 13 December in The Andy Williams Christmas Spectacular. Tickets are available online at watfordcolosseum.co.uk

THANK YOU FOR HELPING GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL Watford Colosseum is raising money to help fund brand-new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. For the past four years HQ Theatres & Hospitality, alongside sister company Qdos Entertainment, has been supporting the Theatres for Theatres appeal, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
©2007 Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (©2008 Theatres for Theatres) Registered charity no. 23582
So far the generosity of audiences and staff has raised over £710,000 for the charity, but we have more to raise to help build and equip a suite of new operating theatres at the Hospital which will open in 2017. You can donate using collection tins at Watford Colosseum or online at gosh.org/theatredonation Your support makes a huge difference. Thank you.
