As owner of Watson Studios, I have developed new design partnerships both with private and government businesses. Recently won contracts were with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, North Carolina in which a 200-page full color guide was developed and designed. The Guide contained pertinent information and advertisements. A recent design and services contract was won for the State of Maine through 2023. I create a wide range of design materials such as a 100-page full color magazine for Diplomatic Connections. Numerous advertisements, in addition to article content, are created geared to clients’ needs. The magazine’s development involves design, coordination with team members and ambassadors, ensuring magazine meets all print specifications, upload final print pdf to printer’s insite server, making corrections and uploading new pages for final approval from editor. Final stage of the magazine is development of an email blast scheduled for release to a targeted audience. The above projects can be viewed in the attached portfolio. n Balmar, Inc., Falls Church, Virginia December, 2005 to October, 2012 Senior Designer As Balmar is a printing company, a wide range of skills and project types were required. All projects were developed from concept through finished deliverable in a fast environment. Understanding print specifications and prepress were mandatory for final output. Types of projects were brochures, calendars, annual reports, powerpoint presentations, web development, conference materials, branding, product guides, style guides. n Watson Studios, Los Angeles, California 1997 – 2005 Created and developed my own design business Secured clients both private and government to expand my line of business. Successful at winning government contracts through RFP and RFQ process. Provided full services to clients from concept and design development through delivery of product be it print or collateral materials. Hired and supervised a variety of professionals to assist in meeting client demands on large projects. Coordinated output of materials with different vendors for delivery of items on client’s timeframe. Created timelines and budgets geared to client’s needs.
