WHO WE ARE
Waxing Poetic was founded over 20 years ago by Patti Pagliei, designer and entrepreneur. Early designs were created at her kitchen table, with a commitment to artistry, quality, and meaning that remain the guiding principles of the brand.
With her sister Lizanne, and a small group of likeminded spirits, we’ve built a beloved brand and network of devoted customers who keep inspiring us to do more, give more, and grow more.

MATERIALS & SUSTAINABILITY
Waxing Poetic is a globally conscious brand using production techniques that marry our design concepts with a range of artists and craftsmen that are unique to different cultures. Our handcrafted jewelry is manufactured throughout the world in Indonesia, Thailand, Italy, and the United States. The quality and care given to each piece is unmatched.
All Waxing Poetic pieces are handcrafted utilizing the finest formulas and highest quality materials available including sterling silver, brass, and silver and gold plate. Other materials include leather, silk or cotton cording, semi-precious stones, pearls, crystals, and resin.
We strongly believe in enhancing the well-being of the earth and her resources, striving to utilize recycled silver in up to 50% of the material we process to lessen the impact from mining. We also recycle wax and plaster from the casting process which is later used by ceramic artists.

The glowing refinement of your keepsake collection of Waxing Poetic jewelry can be preserved in their natural lustrous condition by following these simple guidelines.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TREASURES
Our jewelry is composed of sterling silver, brass, and gold plate. Other materials include semi-precious stones, pearls, crystals, and resin. All Waxing Poetic pieces are made of the best formulas and materials available.
Waxing Poetic’s signature finish is an artisanal antiqued look with oxidization. Tarnish is not a sign of poor metal quality or a product defect; it is a result of exposure to elements. Metals naturally oxidize over time and develop a normal patina from wear.
We recommend that you do not wear jewelry in the shower, hot tub, sauna, ocean or swimming pool, as moisture and chemicals accelerate the tarnishing of metals and can damage pearls, stones and crystals.
Never use chemical dips to clean your Waxing Poetic jewelry. Avoid fragrance, lotions and hair spray while wearing. Always store your jewelry in our signature jewelry pouches or a zip baggie to prevent scratches and tarnish.
MATERIALS:
Sterling Silver & Brass
Sometimes the chemical makeup of skin oils combined with lotions may contribute to metal tarnish. We recommend applying fragrance and hair spray prior to putting on jewelry. Regular use of a polish cloth or mild jewelry cleaner along with proper storage will help maintain the finish and reduce the natural buildup of tarnish on metals.
Pearls, Stones & Crystals
Pearls, stones, and crystals are fragile and require more care than other types of jewelry. Use a soft, lintfree cloth (not a polishing cloth) to wipe jewelry after wearing. If they become dull, put a small amount of our Gentle Jewelry Cleaner on a soft cloth and lightly pat them clean, allow to dry.
Plated Metal
Our plated jewelry is made by covering a base metal with a thin layer of gold or sterling silver. Over time, it will eventually wear away despite your best attempts to preserve it. Lightly wipe your plated jewelry with a soft cloth to gently restore the shine. Do not bathe, swim, soak, sauna, or steam in your plated jewelry. Trapped moisture will speed up oxidization and cause tarnish.
HOW TO USE:
Waxing Poetic Gentle Jewelry Cleaner
This product is specially formulated to clean all types of metals and delicate and porous gemstones, including pearls. It is mild enough for all your Waxing Poetic jewelry. To use, immerse jewelry in cleaner for two minutes. Rinse carefully and blot dry with a soft cloth. To clean strands, dampen a soft cloth with cleaner and wipe pearls, allow to dry.
Waxing Poetic Polish Cloth
Regular polishing along with proper storage will help maintain the finish and reduce the natural buildup of tarnish on metals. Use the inside of the cloth to loosen and lift tarnish. The interior cloth is woven of soft material that will not scratch metal and is treated with a cleaner that is safe to use on all metals. For heavier areas of tarnish, moisten the interior of the cloth slightly with water. After polishing, buff the piece with exterior of the cloth.
