Senior Class Officers- Peter Lee, President; Dick Freeman, Vice-President; Cynthia Snyder, Treasurer; Pam Work, Secretary,
Our dream has finally become a reality. From the moment that we arrived on campus the ensuing years have been filled with daydreams come true. Our number has grown and each of us has taken an active part in making our prep school years happy and prosperous. Our story began in September of 1955 Z.Vhen we elected Fred Flom, president; Dean Eyerly, vice-president; Emma McGraw, treasurer; and Sue Lookatch, secretary. We worked diligently on our first project, Homecoming, and were rewarded by the skit placing second and the effigy third. The annual Sadie Hawkins Day sponsored by us was also a great success. The class showed its true colors by having its members' names on Honor Roll and participating in various school activities. Our Sophomore year Fred Flom was re-elected president, supported by Dean Eyerly, vice-president; Kathy Homu1h, secretary; and Judy Jensen, treasurer. Our
Page Sixteen
effigy caused a sensation at Homecoming and took first place. Our revivals of the "Gay Twenties" and the Sophomore Carnival were two of the highlights of the year. Again proving that we had quality as well as quantity, we kept our places on the Honor Roll and the athletic teams. The officers for our Prom year were Peter Lee, president; Joe Skupnewitz, vice-president; Jane Moore, secretary; and Pam Work, treasurer. We set a precedent by our skit, "Around the Campus in Eight Minutes," placing first. Our effigy, "We'll clip their Wings" placed third to round out the honors for the weekend. Spring brought new class rings, the New York trip, and Junior Prom. "Some Enchanted Evening," set to the theme of an evening in a tropical paradise, was enjoyed by all who attended. June, with its traditional Step-Sing brought us one step higher to the ultimate goal of "Senior." September of 1958 arrived and the seemingly unattainable status of senior was ours. I'm sure that we shall never forget Homecoming, Christmas Ball, Ice Carnival Court, the "significance" of American History, and Senior Privs. College Board Examinations stunned us, semesters came and went, and we "camped" under our mailboxs waiting for that all important letter of acceptance. For the one hundred and fifth time "Pomp and Circumstance" shall lead us to that platform and diploma and the realization of a rewarding dream.

Junior Class Officers- Anne Miller, Secretary; Peter Easton, Vice-President; Bill Dunnuck, Treasurer; Perry Hogan , President .
JUNIOR CLASS We Juniors began the 1958-59 school year by showing our warehouse of talent and originality in placing first in both the skit and effigy during Homecoming. The theme of our winning skit centered around "Wayland Spirit." Our clever effigy consisted of a huge Redman shoe with the bold letters- "We'll lace up a victory and polish off Racine Lutheran." Our Junior class has sponsored many successful activities during the year. Among them was the memorable "20's Dance." All the money from these class projects went to supplement our treasury for the forthcoming Junior Prom.
Soon spring arrived, but not too soon for the ambitious Juniors. Suggestions became ideas which, with much strenuous work and thought, produced the most outstanding dance of the whole year-the Prom. We wish to thank our class advisors, Miss Oyler and Mr. Larimore, for their guidance and unfailing advice. We also wish to thank our loyal class officers for a job well done : President, Perry Hogan; Vice-President, Peter Easton; Secretary, Anne Miller; and Treasurer, Bill Dun nuck.

Freshmen Class officers-David Linville, President; Diane Wright, Treasurer; Randy White, Secretary.
Under the direction of Mr. Chase, Mr. Van Etten, and Miss Porter, the Freshman class has had a most successful and enjoyable year . Led by its officers David Linville, Kathleen Burns, Diane Wright, and Randy White, the newcomers have taken an enthusiastic interest in many Wayland activities and in all the school programs. The class, portraying the highlights of a Wayland year, took second place in the Homecoming skits. To add to this exciting week-

end, they also took second place in the effigies. The Freshmen moved right into the sports spotlight with both boys and girls representing us on all of Wayland's major teams. The main activity of the Freshman class, Sadie Hawkins Day, was a big success due to the co-operation of all members of the class. The Freshmen have added greatly to this school year and are sure to add even more in the years to come.

With the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Wayland Y. W. C. A. in May, this group remains the oldest and largest organization on campus . The leadership for the year 1958-1959 was capably handled by Cynthia Snyder, president; Kathy Homuth, vice-president; Pam Work, secretary; and June Cancell, treasurer. Miss Marion E. Mitchell served as the advisor for the group, willingly directing the many activities which the organization sponsored throughout the year.
chose to support a Korean war orphan. On several occasions the Y.W. also aided needy families and contributed to worthwhile funds.
The majority of the Y.W.C.A. members serve on one of the following committees: hospitality, ways and means, social service, world relations, service, poster, bulletin boards, clubrooms, social, or town relations. These committees were responsible for planning and carrying out the plans which enabled the Y.W.C.A. to have another successful year. The Y.W.C.A. Cabinet was composed of the committee chairmen. As has become customary, the Y.W.C.A. girls
The Y.W. continues to be instrumental in planning the first activity of the year, the annual "Mixer." An impressive candlelight Recognition Service, at which time the new members joined was another highlight of the fall term. The main Y.W. events of the winter were the Nativity Pageant and the March of Dimes Benefit Masquerade. The Mock Wedding provided enjoyment for the girls in the spring. This year the Installation Banquet in May was also an anniversary celebration. Throughout the year the Y.W. sponsors weekly meetings for its members. Speakers, movies, student entertainment, and devotional services are events which contributed to the establishment of the Y.W. during its seventyfifth year of service and fellowship on the Wayland campus.
