Because of our appreciation of his understanding, guidance, and devotion, the 1965 PILLARS is dedicated to Mr. Glenn Hostetter, whose life was taken in an automobile accident on December 23, 1964. Although he had only been with Wayland for one year and a half, he had become an important part of the school. Students had become accustomed
to seeing him selling tickets at basketball games, counting people on bus trips, opening locked doors at all hours, and solving each individual scheduling problem. We deeply feel the loss of this prominent member of Wayland's administration. We who knew him will always remember all he did for Wayland and for us. 4

The Student Senate of 1964-65 is a body conststmg of representatives from each class and presidents of organizations. This change in membership has produced better communications between the Senate_ and the organizations. Improved week-end activities and school spirit resulted. The Senate encouraged the building of Lindsay Lounge, the campus' new recreation center, and sponsored a mock election in November. In developing better organizations, activities, and school spirit the Student Senate feels it has attained its objectives.

The Y.W.C.A. is a service organization based on the principles of creating a congenial atmosphere both in dorm and campus life. The Y.W.C.A. means work and achievement as well as fun and relaxation. The Big-Little Sister Program gave the new girls the Encouragement and help they needed to get acquainted with the campus and Wayland life. Dorm activities, such as "breakfast in bed", bake sales, and parties, also highlighted the year. The Y.W.C .A. has been a part of Wayland since 1884 and we hope it will continue in its well-established tradition.

WRESTLING
BACK ROW: Sleeth, Lentz, Lozoff, Ranson, Knaack, Rosenthal, Miles, Kent, Anderson, Shaw. SECOND ROW: Oberg, McPherson, Crandell, Schultz, Larsen,
The Wayland wrestlers' 64-65 season was a difficult one, but the matmen made a 2-6 record. They defeated Northwestern 33-25 at Lake Geneva but lost to West Bend in their first home match. The Redmen lost a close match to Monona Grove and another to Fond duLac 28-19. Fond duLac returned to beat the matmen again just as the Redmen were narrowly defeated by University School and by St. John's. The matmen have put in a full season's work against some tough teams and they deserve recognition for their spirit.
Rieger goes for a pin.
