Mt. Holly Community Relief Organization has provided a vital service for nearly seven decades By Alan Hodge alan@cfmedia.info

For many, many, of our local citizens in need of nutritional or financial assistance, the Mt. Holly Community Relief Organization (CRO) has been there to help since 1952. The CRO was created by the Ministerial Association of Mount Holly, It is the largest provider of emergency assistance in Mount Holly, providing over $1 million in assistance to over 5,000 residents a year. The CRO’s stated mission is to “Assist neighbors

in crisis in a compassionate and respectful manner while engaging them in a series of actions that will empower them to move beyond crisis.” Since July 2020 when the CRO’s current fiscal year began, it has given out 123,975 pounds of food and helped 3,087 people. That includes 1,026 families and 908 children. The CRO’s food comes from four sources- the USDA, purchases from Second Harvest Food Bank, donations from Food Lion, and private, church, or corporate donations. Food distributed by the

CRO runs the gamut from meat, to vegetables, nonperishables, bread, canned goods, you name it and the CRO has it. As you might expect, the pandemic has impacted the CRO, but the demand for food from clients has been a roller coaster sort of thing. “Demand has depended a lot on the stimulus checks,” said CRO volunteer coordinator Sherry Ridlon. “When people get the checks our demand actually goes down because they spend the money on food. Now, demand is going up again. If people need food we always have it and they can spend stimulus money on things like power bills.” See CRO, Page 6

These are just a few of the many eager volunteers that keeps the CRO going strong. From leftSherry Ridlon, Bob Duckworth, Wanda Holloway, and Jean Panzica.

Remembering Jethro Mann, the Bicycle Man of Belmont By Alan Hodge alan@cfmedia.info

Black History Month is wrapping up and and what better way to commemorate it than with a look at one of Belmont’s most famous and unique African-America citizens- the late Jethro “Bicycle

Man” Mann who passed away on Nov. 11, 2013 at the age of 96. Mann was a long-time resident of the Reid community in Belmont where his garage was filled with bicycles he rebuilt and loaned or gave to local children. See JETHRO MANN, Page 2

The “Trains on Main” tour has arrived in Belmont. This fun, history-based, outdoor, educational activity, targeted to middle schoolers, takes visitors on a historic tour of Downtown Belmont using the Belmont Go app. All aboard to discover eight miniature, painted trains, uniquely placed in locations on Main Street. Belmont’s roots as a historic railroad hub that was once home to North Carolina textile industry provided a vi-

sion to Jamie Campbell, City of Belmont’s City Clerk/ Public Information Officer. The Downtown Belmont Development Association (DBDA), DBDA volunteers, and local artist Irisol Gonzalez partnered with the City to create this tour, available on the Belmont Go app, to support public art and history in downtown Belmont. Having seen a similar concept elsewhere, Campbell was inspired to initiate this project with customizations

Artist Irisol Gonzalez not only painted the trains, she also created a fantastic mural in the Belmont CityWorks building.

appropriate for Belmont and added twists for extra impact. There were several steps involved in this project that required a lot of coordina-

tion. First, the miniature 3D old train engine replicas were fabricated, then Campbell enlisted the help from the See TRAINS, Page 4

R ECOLLECTIONS AND R EFLECTIONS Army-Navy There are all sorts of stores around here and you can buy most anything you want or think you want and need or do not need as the case may be but there’s one type of store that is no longer available-an army-navy surplus store. For a short while a guy had an army-navy store in Belmont but due to circumstances beyond his control it went under. There was a nice army-navy store in Gastonia but it too fell by the wayside. Now there is a void in the armynavy surplus store scene and that’s a real shame. When I was a lil punk there was a big army-navy store on Independence Blvd. called Gottleibs. When ever I had a few dollars from cutting grass I would get my mom to take me there. Gottleibs sold just about every type of military surplus stuff you could imagine. There were uniforms, knapsacks, boots, bayonets, old C-rations, canteens, mess kits, and parachutes to name a few of the cornucopia that was available. The parachutes at Gottleibs came in all sizes. One of my pals named Lewis Wilson convinced his farther to take he and I to Gottleibs and Lewis bought a ‘chute used to drop small supplies like ammo boxes. The canopy was about six feet across and the shroud lines formed a loop at the bottom. On the way back home, we were riding down the road and Lewis and I were in the back seat and his father was driving rather briskly. It was hot and we had all the windows rolled down. For some reason known only to himself, Lewis slipped his hand inside the shroud line loop and then stuck his arm out the car window. One instant Lewis was in the car, the next he was rolling down the road. The ‘chute had snatched him out faster than you could blink an eye. Lewis’s father slammed on brakes and backed up to where Lewis was picking himself up off the pave. The father of Lewis took off his belt and began whupping Lewis who was crying not from the flogging but from the shock of what he had done. Another kid I knew named Phillip Gibson bought a big chute It was about 20 feet across. Phillip took the chute to a big field near where we lived. It was a blustery day. Like Lewis, Phillip put his hand through the shroud line loop. A big gust came along and suddenly Phillip was airborne. He went about 30 feet in the

What is Love? air screaming all the while and landed in a heap on the far end of the field narrowly missing some power lines. Gottlieibs sold steel army helmets. I bought one and one Alan Hodge day my brother Wally Banner-News Editor (who was about two years old at the time) was playing in the sandbox and I sat Wally on the helmet and put a cherry bomb firecracker under it and lit the fuse. The resulting kaboom propelled Wally skyward and he, like Lewis and Phillip, landed in a heap. My mother came running out of the house screaming “You could have blown his fanny off!” Later when I became an adult- what?... and shortly after Sharon and i got married (34 years ago on Valentines Day) we went to Kure Beach. The only car I had at the time was my 1968 MGB sports car. I still have it. Near Kure was a huge army-navy surplus place called Monkey Junction. They had everything at Monkey Junction and out front was a WWII “DUCK” amphibious vehicle with a shark mouth and eyes painted on the front. Monkey Junction sold aerial bombs too. They were full sized ones about four fee long and about a foot in diameter with fins on the back just like they dropped out of B-17s. Only the explosive stuff was gone and they were hollow. I wanted one. One the way home I pulled in and bought one for $50. Now the problem was there is only room in an MG’s trunk for one suitcase. Where should the bomb go? I squeezed the suitcase behind the seats and put the bomb in the trunk and tied the lid down. About half the length of the bomb was sticking out the back and as we rode down the highway people were waving and pointing to see a bomb in an an MG. I wonder what the reaction would be these days to that same sight. Well those are my thoughts this week. No earth shattering opinions, no save the world soliloquies, no moral to the story just a trip down memory lane with a bomb and other goodies our fighting men and women used in the day of yore.

By Tony Marciano My wife and mother got along like peas and carrots. Twenty-three years ago, we created a mother-in- law suite in our house and she moved in with us. I think my mother loved my wife more than me. She threated that if Dot died first and I married another woman, she would move out to which I replied, “Where are you going to go?” She never responded. This June will be my fortieth wedding anniversary. Long term relationships can become comfortable like an old pair of shoes. They can lose their new car smell. I believe that marriage should always “snap, crackle and pop” rather than becoming comfortable like roommates. Whenever I say that, people look at me like I’m crazy and change the topic of conversation. I think marriage is more than a marathon of getting to the end without a divorce, even if you’re miserable with that person. You can be married forty years but happily married ten. Is that what you want? I do not want that. What reminds you of that person that took your breath away, that made you became stupid around them and spend your last dime (thank you for the song, “When a Man Loves a Woman.”) One person wrote down all the reasons he married his wife. When they got into a fight, he took it out and re-read it. I did the same. I called it, “Why Dot?” 1) Character – Right from the start not only did she let me be me, but she also accepted

Part 3 of 3

me just as I am with all my quirkiness. 2) I trust her implicitly. 3) There is a lightness in her voice I have never heard from anyone else. 4) Chemistry Wow- her beauty has always mesmerized me. 5) Heart- she has a really good heart that genuinely cares for others. 6) Heart- she has a pure heart that has no malice. 7) She has a kind-hearted heart that gains honor Proverbs 11:16 “A kindhearted woman gains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth. 8) She forgives and also forgets. 9) She does me good and not harm all the days of my life – Proverbs 31:12 10) She works hard. 11) She only lives in the moment. She doesn’t live in the past or the future. 12) She is loyal. A young adult asked a marriage counselor what makes a good marriage. The counselor with thirty years of marriage wrote the following: 1. A great friendship – you genuinely like each other even when sexual attraction, warm feelings, and In-Love feelings wax and wane. 2. Willingness to be aware of your own challenges without shame, take responsibility

for your mistakes, and do whatever Y O U need to do to Tony Marciano change, as a way to contribute to the health of your relationship. 3. Your ability to make genuine repair when you’ve hurt your partner and say, ‘I’m sorry’. The counselor concluded by saying, “In love feelings are a short-lived, delightful phenomena”. After the “honeymoon” we have to be intentional about most of our romantic, sexual, and intimate encounters. Our experience has taught us that friendship, self-awareness/inner work, and the ability to make amends are really at the top of our list – for the moment. Oh, we’re also into loving kindness, deep listening, and respect for differences, even when they drive us crazy.” Let me challenge you to create your own, “Why (person’s name)”. Keep it in a place that you can access it when either that person drives you crazy or you just want to remember when they first took your breath away. I’ll be back in two weeks. Until then, live well my friend.

JETHRO MANN From Page 1 Mann’s “Bicycle Lending Library” was featured on Charles Kuralt’s “On the Road” TV series. He was also featured in “Our State Magazine”, “Reader’s Digest”, and on the CBS Evening News. Mann received the Good Samaritan Award from “National Enquirer” for his work with needy kids. A German TV film crew also visited Mann for five days and filmed a documentary on his life and lore. Here are a few of the other awards Mann received during his decades of service to others – Belmont Citizen of the Year, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Citizen of the Year, Special Volunteer for the State of North Carolina, the Good Neighbor Award from the National Council of Christians and Jews, City of Belmont Outstanding Community Service Award. Also, the N.C. Department of Labor Certificate of Appreciation Award, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Good Samaritan

Award and Charlotte District A.M.E. Zion Outstanding Service to Youth Award. A native of Curryville, Georgia, Mann was one of 12 children born to Jesse and Ida Mann. Early days at the public schools in Curryville gave Mann a thirst for knowledge that led him to an eclectic blend of institutions of higher learning. Just a few of the places Mann has cracked the books include the Palmer Memorial Institute, Lincoln Academy, West Virginia State College, Institute of West Virginia, International Correspondence School in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University. A true patriot, Mann served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and during that time he received the Company Honor Man Award. Mann’s working career was long and productive. He was the first African-American in

North Carolina to receive a general contractor license. In 1972, Mann became the first African-American Apprentice Representative to the N.C. State Department of Labor, passing on his expertise in the building trade, Mann taught related subjects at schools in Cleveland, Gaston, and Lincoln counties. He taught construction and building at Central Piedmont Community College. Mann built many of the houses and even a movie theater in the Reid area. What made Mann all the more remarkable was the fact that he suffered from a crippling form of arthritis in his hands. His love of sharing bikes with kids extended beyond

the Belmont city limits. Mann once gave 65 bikes to the Boys and Girls Home at Lake Waccamaw. In addition to his bike and building work, Mann also served as a minister at Hood Memorial AME Zion Church. The last couple of years before his passing saw Mann move from Belmont to Lakeland, Florida where he stayed near his daughters in an assisted living facility. He took his love of bikes with him and according to daughter Peggy Robinson had a couple of them in his room. Mann’s legacy remains one of caring for his community and working tirelessly to help others.

Local artists featured at Gaston County Museum The Gaston County Museum presents its newest art show featuring Gaston County residents David Childers and Robert Childers. A singer-songwriter residing in Mt. Holly, David Childers is the proverbial study in contradictions: a former highschool football player with an aw-shucks demeanor, a wellread poet and painter who cites Chaucer and Kerouac as influences. He fell in love with folk music as a teen and also listens to jazz and opera. He fed his family by practicing law before turning in his license to concentrate on his creative passions. David Childers’ son, Robert Childers, also has interests in artistic endeavors. He is well known in the Charlotte music community as a musician, sound engineer, and promoter. Art is another facet of his creative personality. About 13 years ago, David and Robert were traveling through Holland as part of a musical tour. They arranged for a visit to the Van Gogh Museum and were both subsequently inspired to begin creating art. According to David, “I do not have any rules for what I do in my art. I

Nuevo Laredo, Acrylic on Wood, David Childers. will leave it to others to judge and explain my art to themselves.” The exhibit features a collection of folk art paintings on view beginning February

15 in the Depot Art Gallery, Anne Furr Learning Station. For more information, contact Hannah Musselwhite, Curator, at Hannah.Musselwhite@gastongov.com.

artistically painting the tiny trains. With that key component underway, the DBDA turned to its many volunteers to take on other aspects of the work. Many thanks to Design Committee member Jennifer Brown; DBDA Chair Angela Street; Design Committee Chair Emilie Rudisill; Former City Councilman, board member and committee member Ron Foulk; and Belmont resident Virginia Baxter for the tremendous talent, time and effort they’ve invested in volunteering on this project, as well as to the downtown property owners who agreed to host the trains on their properties. About the artist Irisol Gonzalez is a fine artist and muralist who has been living and working in Charlotte for more than eight years. She immigrated to the United States with her Costa Rican immediate family at the age of ten. She grew up

and went to college in North Carolina, but her upbringing was traditionally Costa Rican at home. Her public work often reflects her interpretation of what it means to be a Latin American immigrant, a brown woman, and a person who has two cultures working simultaneously in every endeavor and experi-

ence. With a double mayor in psychology and political science from Appalachian State University, Gonzalez often poses moral questions from a psychological and/or political standpoint. When she’s not questioning motives in her work, she is celebrating the gift and privilege of diversity and heritage.

“Since the train engines had specific years of operation, I felt it would be interesting to reflect what was happening in the city when those engines came around-like time travel in a way,” Gonzalez said. “Because adding the name graffiti style was the only specific request, combining that with historical pieces of information served

as a fun way to explore and review the city’s history. The freedom of graffiti combined with the rigidity of history creates a dynamic and inviting concept. Public art creates a sense of ownership and belonging to a community. I believe that public art demonstrates that people here care.” Visit www.irisolgonzalez. com to find out more.

TRAINS From Page 1 DBDA to help locate an artist to put a creative, modern spin on this history project, then she enlisted the assistance of Downtown Director, Phil Boggan, to coordinate with downtown property owners, and finally she worked with Public Works to install the trains. The Downtown Belmont Development Association (DBDA) was thrilled to partner with the City of Belmont on this project to provide artist resourcing, history, written content, custom printed map design, Belmont Go app tour creation and funding assistance. as a part of its ongoing effort to support public art and history in downtown Belmont, Turning to Belmont’s own nationally and internationally celebrated artist Juan Logan for guidance, the DBDA was able to connect Mr. Logan’s colleague Irisol Gonzalez with the City, and soon she was “on board”

Another impact that Covid has had on the CRO is the fact that classes being held there to teach folks about better ways to manage their budgets have not been held since last March. “The classroom is vacant now,” Ridlon said. “The classes were a great benefit and a lot of folks want to know when they will start back up. I will be so glad when Covid goes away.” Yet another Covid impact that the CRO has been feeling is cancellation of food drives. “The Post Office food drive this year had to be called off,” said Ridlon.

“That would have been eight thousand pounds of food.” However, the food drive scene is going to improve soon. According to Ridlon, the Stowe Family YMCA will hold a drive the first week in March. Parker is ten years old and he attends school at Ida Rankin Elementary. He is currently in Mrs. Hannah Allen’s 5th grade class and he reports to Mrs. Kaylor for Safety Patrol. Parker decided to raise money to purchase ballistic vests for the MHPD’s two new K9s, Hank and Cash for his Safety Patrol Project this year. Parker addressed City Administration, Council, and members of the K9 Unit on Monday and presented these vests to K9 Officer Dodd, who handles Hank and K9 Officer Burchfield, who handles Cash. The Gaston County Schools family is mourning the death of Mr. Terry Usery, who passed away on February 14, 2021. A long-time educator with more than 40 years of dedicated service to the profession, Mr. Usery worked as a classroom teacher, bus driver, and school administrator. He served as principal of Page Elementary School in Belmont and Cherryville Elementary School before spending more than 16 years as principal of Tryon Elementary School, which he affectionately referred to as “the purrrfect place to learn.” Mr. Usery began his career with Gaston County Schools in August 1974, working for 15 years as a teacher at Carr, Arlington, and Tryon elementary schools. From 1989-1992, he was an assistant principal at Woodhill Elementary and W.C. Friday Junior High School before being named the principal of Page Elementary in July 1992. After four years at Page, he spent one year at Cherryville Elementary, and then served as principal of Tryon Elementary until his retirement in 2014.

In 2013, Mr. Usery was named the Gaston County Principal of the Year. He capped his career in education by serving as the Cherryville Township representative on the Gaston County Board of Education from 2016 until 2020. When he was elected to the Board of Education, Mr. Usery answered the call to dedicate much time and energy to serving the students, employees, and families of Gaston County Schools. He collaborated with his fellow Board members, Superintendent Booker, school administrators, teachers, parents, community leaders, and others to improve educational opportunities for children. From the classroom to the principal’s office and all the way to the Board Room, Mr. Usery worked tirelessly during his entire professional life to be a staunch advocate for students, teachers, and the entire public school system in the community he

Mr. Terry Usery so cherished and loved. He was a voice, a beacon, and an ambassador for education because he wholeheartedly knew what quality teaching and learning does for children – it changes their lives forever. Everyone associated with Gaston County Schools wishes to express our sincere condolences to Mr. Usery’s family and friends during this difficult time of loss and sadness. Mr. Terry Usery, our loyal friend of public education, will be missed by all of us.

Musical performance by A Sign of the Times to be presented by Gaston College Multicultural Affairs Committee Beginning on Thursday, February 4, 2021, the Gaston College Multicultural Affairs Committee will present through a link on the College website a recorded performance by the core musical ensemble of A Sign of the Times of the Carolinas, a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the legacy of the African Diaspora through music, dance and the spoken word. The ASOTT ensemble performs original compositions, Classic R&B, Straight-Ahead Jazz and Old School Salsa music. The ensemble features Tyrone Jefferson, who is the Executive Director of A Sign of the Times of the Carolinas and the Music Director of the ASOTT bands. Also featured is Toni Tupponce, Program Director for the non-

profit and lead vocalist for the ASOTT bands. Jefferson and Tupponce are hosts of the weekly “Saturday Night R&B House Party” program on WSGE 91.7FM, the Gaston College award-winning non-commercial radio station. The one-hour performance will include songs like Stevie Wonder’s “Love’s in Need of Love,” the Stylistics’ “People Make the World Go ‘Round,” and Tyrone Jefferson’s “Listen,” among others. Information or storylines about the selected songs may be interjected into the performance. “The Multicultural Affairs Committee is pleased to present A Sign of the Times,” said Judith Porter, President of MAC and Music Instructor. “While their primary focus is to present the expe-

riences of Black Americans and the African diaspora through music, spoken word and dance, their presentations touch on themes that are universal and speak to the human condition.” “From our perspective,” said Tupponce, “we hope to reach people who are interested in or curious about Black History as related to the strength and importance of Black female icons throughout American history. Our storyline may also make a connection to the BLM movement.” Although the performance will not be presented live, Tupponce does anticipate that ASOTT will communicate with the audience. “The result of any performance is a two-way street,” she said. “It is our responsibility to put our best musicianship and

equal to 3.40 for nine credits of traditionally graded coursework; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” NE, D, or F; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours. Rochester Institute of Technology is home to lead-

ing creators, entrepreneurs, innovators and researchers. Founded in 1829, RIT enrolls about 18,600 students in more than 200 career-oriented and professional programs, making it among the largest private universities in the U.S.

heart into the performance. As the vocalist/storyteller, I share my interpretation of the lyrics based on where I am (emotionally, physically, and spiritually) in the moment. How the audience receives what we offer, and share is their responsibility and will depend on where they are at

that moment and the openness of their heart and mind. That’s the real beauty and challenge of the audienceperformer relationship.” The performance will be available through a link on You Tube at https:// youtu.be/rsPZVWvuhisand on the Gaston College web-

site, posted under GC News, www.gaston.edu. The presentation will be aired daily on Spectrum Cable TV, channel 21, February 22 -28 at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. For additional information about the presentation, contact Judith Porter at porter.judith@gaston.edu.

Radical Love Rev. Trent Rankin Salvation Church, Gastonia, NC salvationchurchnc.org

Have you ever met someone who was lonely, and felt like they would never find someone to love? Later that person meets someone and falls head over heels in love. Their entire life changes. They could face anything because they were in love. When we experience the love of Jesus, our lives totally change. We can face anything because Jesus loves us. That’s the love of Jesus, that is radical love! In John 4:1-30, Jesus passed through Samaria, where He encountered a Samaritan woman at a well drawing water. He asked her for some water. This was unheard of, for a Jewish man to talk to a Samaritan woman. She was amazed that He was talking to her. As they talked about the water from the well, Jesus told her He had living water to give her, that would spring up into eternal life. She asked for this water. She was thinking about quenching physical thirst, yet Jesus was talking about spiritual thirst. She said she knew that one day the Messiah, the Christ, would come. Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he” (John 4:26,

ESV). She went and told everyone in the village about what Jesus had said to her, and they came to Jesus. Many of them believed. This Samaritan woman experienced the radical love of Jesus. She was changed forever, and she led others to Jesus as well. Jesus came to Samaria to find this woman. He was there at the right time, at the well, so He could share His love with her and those of her village. When we experience the radical love of Jesus as the Samaritan woman experienced, we are changed forever. This woman was never the same after meeting Jesus at the well, and neither are we when we meet Jesus. When we experience the love of Jesus, our outlooks on life change. Our hopes and desires change. We experience radical change through the radical love of Jesus. Jesus is ready to radically love you today. Just as Jesus sought the woman in Samaria at the well, Jesus seeks you too. Maybe you are facing loneliness, hopelessness, or feeling unloved. Jesus gave His life on the cross, suffering for our sins. He conquered death and sin. That is radical love! This love is for you too. He is ready to save you, ready to walk with you, and ready to love you! Will you experience the radical love of Jesus today?

Connect the Dots: It’s all about Him

Where did that come from? By Dennis Siracusa Several years ago I bought a box freezer for deer venison, quarts of blueberries, and home refrigerator overflow. I used it for a few years and then turned it off and cleaned it. This year I thought I’d use it again but it wouldn’t freeze. I removed the compressor access panel where I had the shock of my life! Every refrigeration line solder joint was seriously corroded. How did that happen? Where did this mess come from? Similarly, I remember, during 40 years of remodeling, finding terrible construction and repair work hiding behind drywall. Seriously distorted wall studs, plates not secured to floor, and a live electrical panel inside the wall. Folks, that doesn’t happen by accident. And a friend bought a $300,000 home whose hot water heater was designed so far from the master bathroom that it takes 5 minutes to get warm water for a shower. How do we explain things such as this; planned obsolescence, laziness, greed, ignorance, meanness, unconcern for the end user, a focus on self instead of others? These are character deficiencies so again, how does that happen; who is training us? The prophet Haggai reminds us in Haggai 1:5-6 NIV “Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough…. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” In short, we think, by ill-considered shortcut choices, we are “getting ahead,”

but given a little more time we will discover that spiritual repercussions show up as practical deterioration in our lives; in every area. Life is complicated and we’re not nearly as smart as we think we are. God is infinite and isn’t off in the distance watching us to see how we fare in His complicated world. He is as close as our next breath and wants intimate moment by moment relationship with each of us; wants to protect us, guide us, and teach us. Why don’t we take up His offer? Why are we so bent on choosing wrong paths and shortcuts; letting our authentic lives slip out from under us; thinking our finite understanding, knowledge, and subsequent choices are remotely more beneficial than our infinite God’s wisdom and direction? Our actions and choices show whether we love God or prefer sin. Sadly, the notion of evolution has caused many to put God on a distant back burner where they don’t even consider His commandments. Others call themselves Christians but have no notion of their overriding purpose on this earth so they conduct daily activity by intuition. In Colossians 4:5 TPT the Lord tells us part of our purpose. “Walk in the wisdom of God…. and make it your duty to make HIM known.” So that’s it! Make God known by our example and words, learn truth from His Word, and obey Him so our lives end up well. And when we do, God will shape us into His image and everyone will see it and know that God is guiding us with His wisdom, honesty, and integrity.
