In particular I have been asked by the authorities at Worcester Cathedral if we would again help to support a trainee stonemason as we did some fifteen years ago. Worcester is one of only eight cathedrals in the country to possess a working stonemasons yard, and it seems highly appropriate that we should help safeguard our heritage in this way as well as maintain the excellent relationship with the cathedral which we are fortunate enough to enjoy. I urge you to encourage others to join the Provincial Lottery to help raise money in an especially painless way. Who knows - you might even win!
Richard Goddard
Thanks to your generous support, the W. M. C. O. lottery, promoted by W.Bro. Derek Taylor, with the Provincial Grand Master’s sanction has already raised over £80,000 for Provincial Charities!

Will YOU be a winner this year? Worcestershire Masonic Charity Organisation Lottery
I continue to be grateful to W. Bro. Derek Taylor, the Lottery Promoter, for the sterling work he does behind the scenes to help you to raise funds for good causes, in particular for Appeal 2011 over the past five years. Now that that appeal has reached its magnificent climax we can turn our attention to other worthy objectives.

Thank you for your help – and very good luck!
The Provincial Grand Master and the Promoter do hope you will feel able to help in this way, for though it is primarily a fund raising effort for our charity, it is also a bit of fun. After all, £5 a month is little more than £1 a week. If you have any queries please contact the Promoter. Cross your fingers and await Lady Luckʼs warm smile!
THE COMPETITION
Your starting date is the FIRST SATURDAY of the MONTH (allowing two weeks for bank processing) following the promoterʼs receipt of your entry form. The holder of the National Lottery Bonus Ball number drawn on the first Saturday of each month will be paid 10 times their monthly stake, i.e. £5 staked = £50 won, £4 staked = £40 won or £3 staked = £30 won. Winnerʼs names will be published on the Provincial website. Tick here if you do not wish this to happen

The Province of Worcestershire Masonic Charities Organisation (WMCO) Lottery, promoted by W. Bro, Derek Taylor, has raised tens of thousands of pounds for Masonic and non Masonic charitable causes since its establishment in May 2003. Recently fund raising reached a new peak when the Lottery was able to provide donations totalling £36,500 towards the 2011 Festival Appeal in support of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys, registered charity No 285836. The Trust had awarded Grand Patronage status to the WMCO Lottery in recognition of its efforts towards the Festival total of £1,621,9261.
In addition the YMCO Lottery has been able to raise substantial sums for Troop Aid, Acorns, the Worcester Hospice for Life-limited children, the County Air Ambulance and Teddy Bears for loving Care (TLC) which provides Teddy Bears to comfort traumatised children in A&E departments of local hospitals. Additional funds have gone to the Provincial Library and Museum and to Worcestershire Cathedral Music Foundation.
Derek Taylor, promoter of the WMCO Lottery said:
“I am delighted to have been able to allocate funds to the Worcestershire 201I Festival in favour of the RMTGB.” He went on to state “It is through the wonderful generosity of our Worcestershire Freemasons that we have been able to raise this magnificent sum.”

years. Acorns care for children who are life-limited - that is unlikely to reach adulthood - and offer support to their families. Acorns offer respite, emergency and terminal care at their hospices and round the clock support at home through their community team. The team also run support groups for family members. We support The Worcester Hospice The object of the COUNTY AIR AMBULANCE Charity is to use the income raised for any purpose relating to the National Health Service wholly or mainly for the services provided by the County Air Ambulance. The income to achieve this is, in the main, donations from numerous benefactors and many support groups locally who provide assistance. This work is co-ordinated by its Charity HQ.
TLC provides for small Teddy bears to be given by Accident and Emergency Medical staff to distressed children in the A.& E. unit. Freemasons provide the Teddy bears to local hospitals and more than 350,000 Teddy bears have already been distributed in the UK. WORCESTER CATHERDRAL APPRENTICE STONEMASON

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. Macmillan can all help. In 1911, a young man named Douglas Macmillan watched his father die of cancer. His father's pain and suffering moved Douglas so much; he founded the 'Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer'.
A landmark higher education course, for cathedral stonemasons, helps to fill a skills gap in helping to safeguard the future of some of the country's most historic and important cathedrals. The increasing emphasis on conservation work drives the need for craftsmen with wider experience. The field of cathedral stonemasonry training covers all aspects of the work, proving so important to the future of the heritage sector. Our donations help to fund the apprentice, at this high-level course, provided by Worcester Cathedral.
