Master of Science in Athletic Training Why Waynesburg?
Prerequisites
Waynesburg offers a 56-credit Master of Science in Athletic Training program designed to meet the needs of Athletic Trainers. Our program includes:
• Students will need to achieve a C or higher in the following pre-requisite courses:
• Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
• Chemistry with lab
• Classes that meet in-person Monday through Friday during the day on our main campus in Waynesburg during the first year, and 100% online during the second year
• Biology with lab • Physics with lab • Statistics • Human Anatomy with lab • Human Physiology with lab • Introduction to Psychology
• Curriculum designed to be completed in five semesters within two years
• Exercise Physiology
• Two entry points: integrative 3+2 program or stand-alone graduate program
Admission requirements
• Mentoring from faculty, staff and preceptors
• B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Manual therapy skill development • Patient-centered clinical experience
• A cumulative 3.0 GPA • Completion of online graduate application, resume and two professional references • Completion of a Clinical Observation Experience • Minimum of 50 hours • Completed on the “Clinical Observation” form included on graduate application • Must be completed with a qualified Athletic Trainer who must be BOC credentialed and hold current state licensure or registration • Interview with faculty of the program
