The CDC has downgraded the guidelines for COVID-19 Per the CDC, COVID-19 is now being classified as a respiratory virus and protocols have been adjusted to follow recommendations for respiratory viruses
What this means:
There will no longer be mandatory isolation for those diagnosed with COVID-19 Health Services will not provide excuses for students with COVID-19
If you suspect you have contracted or have tested positive for a respiratory virus such as COVID-19, the flu, or RSV, it is recommended per the CDC to stay home or away from others
Symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, runny nose, and headache, among other symptoms
Normal activities can be resumed once fever-free for 24 hours without a fever-reducing medication
Masking is an option to prevent the spread on campus for 5 days after the fever is gone and symptoms are resolving Masks are available in Health Services
Absences or sick days are at the individual’s discretion.
Students can visit Health Services for assistance with any illness.
For students, visits can be confirmed to instructors. It will be at the instructor's discretion if the absence is excused.
Employees must utilize sick days if requiring a day off due to illness.
Health Services utilizes the CDC recommendations for respiratory viruses as a guide to establish campus protocols:
