Learn to use a variety of mediums and techniques as you journal with water-reactive tools that turn your thoughts into background color; see how to reverse write in a big, bold chunky style that showcases a funny thought or fun memory; consider using positive support words to add interest and texture to a page... all of these mindfulness techniques help to calm and relax a racing mind when living in uncertain and stressful times. Limited enrollment. Instructor: Suzanne Beaumar *An additional supply fee of $5 (cash or check payable to instructor) is due at the beginning of each class, plus a one-time $20 fee for a base journal hand-made by instructor Suzanne Beaumar. Mixed Media Workshop: Foxy Pumpkin Stack

Carve out a stack of patterned pumpkins cuddled by a sweet little fox in this 4-hour mixed media workshop. “Yes, and…” — these two powerful words are the building blocks of all improvisation and well… life! And in improv as in life, we make things up as we go along by saying “yes, and…”. In this 6 week workshop, students will learn how to say “yes, and…” and communicate their own ideas while listening and responding to their scene partners. Through listening exercises, group games, and fun team activities, students will learn how to be in the moment and think on their feet. What will happen? Who knows?! The Williamson County Community Chorus is back for 2021! Formed in 2017, the chorus is open for older teens, adults and seniors from the Middle Tennessee area. In 2018, with just over 90 singers performing John Rutter’s Requiem for the Spring Concert, a YouTube video of the performance was discovered by a gentlemen with DCINY (Distinguished Concerts International, New York), who called the department to invite the chorus to participate in a performance of Requiem at Carnegie Hall in New York in January of 2020. The Williamson County Community Chorus holds open auditions for adults and seniors each January and August for its Spring and Fall seasons each year and always welcomes new singers. Rehearsals are from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each Tuesday night during the season. The chorus is under the direction of Dr. Linda Bolding, an accomplished musician with more than twenty years of experience conducting adult choirs. Since the beginning of the choir in 2017, Bolding has brought professional excellence and experience to the Williamson County Community Chorus.

Auditions: Monday, Aug. 23 and Tuesday.
