Group Fitness Information & Policies • Passes are interchangeable between the Franklin Recreation Complex, the Longview Recreation Center, the Indoor Sports Complex, the Nolensville Recreation Complex and the Fairview Recreation Complex. Once a pass has been purchased, it is valid at any of these 5 facilities. • Due to liability restrictions, no one under the age of 13 may participate or be in the room while fitness classes are in session. • Anyone ages 13 – 17 must have a parent/guardian sign a liability release waiver prior to participation; available at front desk. • Patrons should wear comfortable and appropriate work-out clothing while

participating in class. • Patrons are permitted to bring water bottles, towels, etc. into the fitness rooms. • The public is NOT permitted to use either of the Group Fitness Rooms and/ or the equipment when a class is not in session and/ or an instructor is not present in the room. Doors should be kept locked by Facility Managers when classes are not in session.

YOGA

Learn to harness the power of hatha yoga to strengthen your body, soften your heart, and clear your mind. Each class explores biomechanical principles of alignment of the body in the poses as a meditation in motion. Hands-on adjustments, demonstrations and partner work may be done in class to help reveal a deeper joy through the body. Classes end with Savasana (complete relaxation pose) and a blessing. Gentle & Restorative Yoga If you are looking to experience the nurturing effects of yoga in a quieter, slow class then this class is for you. With an emphasis on restorative postures, this is a great place to start for older beginners, someone with injuries, or those simply desiring a more soothing class. Tai Chi Tai Chi is a gentle exercise that is fun and suitable for all ages and capabilities. Unlike most conventional exercise, the muscles and joints are relaxed instead of strained. Fairview Seniors Group The Senior Citizens meet each Tuesday and Thursday in the senior’s room at the Fairview Recreation Complex. At 10:30am everyone plays BINGO. Members who enjoy playing Rook come early on meeting days and play until time for Bingo. The seniors also have a pool table and the gentlemen play pool, both before and after the meeting. A Covered Dish Lunch is held on the first Tuesday of each month; and, lunch is catered in or the group plans a lunch out on the third Thursday of each month. Senior Day Trips September: Milky Way Farm Let’s go see the Milky Way Farm in Pulaski, TN. The farm began as a vision of Frank Mars who purchased the Tennessee land after the success of his Milky Way candy bar. The farm is dear to many and known for prize Herefords, fast horses, fine sheep, incredible barns, and breathtaking views. At Milky Way Farm we will receive a guided tour of the manor and a hayride tour of the farm. In between tours, we will enjoy lunch, complete with grilled chicken, southern sides, salad, and dessert. October: Jack Daniel’s Distillery & Miss Mary Bobo’s Join us for a trip to Lynchburg, TN. Our first stop will be at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery to participate in their new sampling tour! After the tour, we will head on over to Miss Mary Bobo’s for a family style meal with good down-home cooking just like Mr. Jack enjoyed a century ago. Recreation Night In September join us for our Annual Fall Festival and Hay Ride. We will have a dance with a DJ to keep things moving and a hay hide before our dinner of BBQ, cole slaw, baked beans, chips, drinks and desserts. Come out in October for our Halloween Party. Parent’s Night Out Parents, we invite you to take advantage of our monthly Parents’ Night OUT program at Nolensville! This program is held on a Friday and is catered to your child(ren) with special needs. Siblings are welcome to register as well so that you can enjoy a night off! Throwback Thursday Please join us for a blast from the past each month where we will enjoy a variety of “throwback” activities! PALS program (People at Leisure with Support) - A caregiver is required to stay with those needing support. Caregivers are asked to register if planning to attend and eat. Ice cream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream! In September we will celebrate the end of summer with an Ice Cream Party where we will make an Ice Cream balloon craft & create a Real Ice Cream Sunday at our very own IceCream Bar! We will start out with a dinner of chicken fingers, chips, and drinks first but make sure you leave ro om for your dessert! In October, we will take a trip down memory lane with a good old fashioned “Drive-In” movie. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! Hamburgers, chips, dessert and drinks will be served for dinner.
