YOGA
Learn to harness the power of hatha yoga to strengthen your body, soften your heart, and clear your mind. Each class explores biomechanical principles of alignment of the body in the poses as a meditation in motion. Hands-on adjustments, demonstrations and partner work may be done in class to help reveal a deeper joy through the body. Classes end with Savasana (complete relaxation pose) and a blessing. Introduction to Yoga Do you want to try hatha yoga, but don’t know where to begin? In this beginner series you’ll get a taste of easy, basic yoga postures to release mental and physical stress, (and yes, you’ll get stronger and more flexible), and you’ll discover how mindful breathing is the ticket to feeling more alive, calmer, and clear. The atmosphere is friendly and non-competitive. Students are encouraged to register for the month but also have the option to register for which classes they can attend for the entire month. Instructor: Ellen M. Treanor. For more information you can email emtreanor@gmail. com Registration closes at 3:00pm the day before class. 8649 Franklin Thursdays 3/2 – 3/30 4:30pm to 5:30pm Adults $10.00/Class 8650 Franklin Thursdays 4/6 – 4/27 4:30pm to 5:30pm Adults $10.00/Class 8651 Franklin Thursdays 5/4 – 5/25 4:30pm to 5:30pm Adults $10.00/Class Advanced Beginners/All Levels Yoga This all levels class will be catered to the individuals that come to class on that day. Newer students will be taught how to modify postures. Recommended after taking at least three Beginners/Introductory classes. Barre Barre (bahr) Fitness combines ballet, Pilates, and yoga to give you beautiful sculpted, lean muscles, without the impact and injuries a dancer may endure. An intense isometric strength-training, low-impact class, focusing on balance, lengthening and strengthening core, glutes, and all other major muscle groups. NO Dance Experience Required! Anyone can do it! A 60-minute class starts with a warm up, upper-body light-weight series, barre series, and concludes with mat work (core, push ups, planks, stretch). The barre is used for balance. Exercises include several toning sequences and resistance movements emphasizing the core, arms, seat and thighs. Each strength section of this workout is followed by targeted stretching to create long, lean muscle without bulk. Instructor: Rebecca Trauscht Reg. Code Location
