Barre

Barre (bahr) Fitness combines ballet, Pilates, and yoga to give you beautiful sculpted, lean muscles without the impact and injuries a dancer may endure. It is an intense isometric strength-training, low-impact class focusing on balance, lengthening and strengthening your core, glutes and all other major muscle groups. NO dance experience required - anyone can do it! A 60-minute barre class starts with a warm up, upper-body light-weight series, barre series, and concludes with mat work (core, push ups, planks, stretch). The barre is used for balance. Exercises include several toning sequences and resistance movements emphasizing the core, arms, seat and thighs. Each strength section of this workout is followed by targeted stretching to create long, lean muscle without bulk. Instructor: Rebecca Trauscht Reg. Code Location Days

Tai Chi Tai Chi is a gentle exercise that is fun and suitable for all ages and compatibilities. Unlike most conventional exercise, the muscles and joints are relaxed instead of strained. Rather than jarring the body and straining muscles, Tai Chi promotes: blood flow with gentle, gliding motions, reduces joint paint, increases flexibility and range of motion, and increases strength and aerobic conditioning. Come join us and get fit and have fun at the same time. We begin with stretching by using exercises and resistance bands then transition into strengthening with light hand weights and stability balls. We complete our workout with a 30 minute walk. Please be aware that we walk outside on the walking trail when weather permits and upstairs on the indoor walking track during cold or rainy weather. Participants must be independent and be able to follow directions within a small group.
