Tai Chi Tai Chi is a gentle exercise that is fun and suitable for all ages and compatibilities. Unlike most conventional exercise, the muscles and joints are relaxed instead of strained. Rather than jarring the body and straining muscles, Tai Chi promotes: blood flow with gentle, gliding motions, reduces joint paint, increases flexibility and range of motion, and increases strength and aerobic conditioning. For more information, please contact Andrew Hawken at (615) 799-9331 ext. 2315.

Mixed Media Print to Project Series for Veterans: Because of the Brave Art Journaling can be a place to have fun with an idea or story, in a visual and interesting way. This month’s Art Journaling page honors those who have served our country. Our take on the American flag is a paper-pieced series of stripes supporting a field of modeling paste stars. Accents in black doodling offer grungy interest and places to commemorate ships served on, companies served within, and those served alongside. Bold titling techniques offer a place to say what you feel this July. **$0 Supply Fee for Veterans; $10 Supply Fee family members/caregivers. Instructor: Suzanne Beaumar

Mixed Media Print to Project Series for Veterans: Whale of a Tale Art Journaling can be a place to have fun with an idea or story, in a visual and interesting way. This month’s page gives a nod to a favorite pastime and/or provides an opportunity to remember a “fishing story” -- the kind of tale that gets bigger every time it is told. The use of nautical colors and themes sets the mood for whatever “whale tale” is chosen -- be it literal or figurative. Techniques in creative journaling and playing on a theme bring this fun page together. **$0 Supply Fee for Veterans; $10 Supply Fee family members/caregivers. Instructor: Suzanne Beaumar

KidzKeys with Fine Arts Matter

Art is all around us. Whether you’re looking at a painting in a museum, dancing to a catchy song, or holding the beautiful ceramic mug your child brought home from school, art and creativity are woven into every part of our lives. With FineArtsMatter, we foster the creativity and passion that goes into each painting, song, and precious mug. KidzKeys uses color and tons of FUN to introduce kids (age 5 - 8) to the joy of playing the piano. Using the colorful Chroma-Notes™ system and Kodaly rhythm syllables, students quickly learn to read musical notation while they play familiar songs they will love to practice in class and at home. Our experienced teachers do a great job with both beginners and young Mozarts, so no experience is needed to have fun in our class! We even bring the keyboards! We will have exciting quarterly Class Recitals for family and friends! Learn more at www.fineartsmatter.com.
