Instructor Spotlight – Shelley Egly: My love for teaching and art began as a young child. I pursued a career in the field of education at The University of Tennessee and graduated with a Master’s degree. I have taught in a variety of settings over the last decade. I have been teaching art to preschool and elementary aged children for over 4 years now. I am excited to be the instructor for this class and I am ready to meet your budding artists. Alphabet Adventures: Letters K and L: We will create art inspired by things that start with the letters K and L – kangaroos, kings, lollipops and lizards – just to name a few. Come join the fun!

Ballroom Dance – Salsa Salsa is one of the most popular social dances, done primarily to songs in the Latin musical genres, but due to its popularity is often danced to current pop music as well. Salsa roots originated in Cuba, but today’s Salsa has evolved into several different styles, both in movement and break action. Salsa is considered to be among most beginner friendly dances and is often taught in clubs and newcomer classes, not only due to the simplicity of the basic footwork, but also due to its fun and playful nature. This is an ongoing class. Class is closed after the 2nd class to register. Instructor: Tijana Humphreys. For more information contact Tijana at 919-368-2688 or brajanhump@hotmail.com Reg. Code

January: National Corvette Museum & Plant Let’s go see America’s Sports Car… an exciting legend produced only in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We will start with a guided, walking tour of the GM Corvette Assembly plant. Next we will stop for lunch at Jerry’s Restaurant, a cozy Southern diner, which whips up omelets, burgers & homemade pie in quirky, throwback digs. After lunch we will move on to the National Corvette Museum which features over 80 Corvettes in periodic settings, including mint classics, one-of-a-kind prototypes and modern-day wonders of engineering and design. The tour of the plant is a walking tour that lasts about an hour and is approximately one mile long; canes and walkers are not allowed but wheelchairs are acceptable. If you will be bringing your wheelchair please let us know when you register so we can plan accordingly. Please eat a hearty breakfast before embarking on this trip with us. We will provide light snacks and water for the bus ride as needed. The cost of the trip ($38) includes admission to the plant tour, museum tour, light snacks, and transportation. Lunch at Jerry’s is Dutch treat. Registration is REQUIRED. Reg. Code

February: Nashville Symphony Back by popular demand! Please join our trip to the beautiful Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Enjoy a Roman-themed Friday-morning concert with your Nashville Symphony. With its vivid orchestral effects, Respighi’s Pines of Rome is one of the most beloved works in the classical repertoire. Though it was written by an American, Barber composed his intensely lyrical and expressive Symphony No. 1 while in Rome. We begin with free coffee and pastries at the Schermerhorn and then we will be entertained by the talents of the Nashville Symphony. Don’t miss this experience! The cost of the trip ($40) includes Symphony tickets, coffee, pastries, and transportation. Registration is REQUIRED. Reg. Code
