INTRO About us Founded in Bristol in 2012 and operating as a photography agency since late 2015, Here & Now provide photographers that deliver high-quality coverage of electronic music events and festivals around the UK and Europe, as well as expanding into video this year.
Visions We believe photography is an essential aspect of the overall branding strategy and representation of an event. In order to provide a candid narrative of an event we aim to capture it in a true reportage style. Photographers are encouraged to work in an unobtrusive manner, keeping a low profile both in the crowd and on stage. This preserves the natural magic of the atmosphere at the event allowing moments to be captured from the viewpoint of the attendee.
Aspirations As a team, we have proven our abilities in capturing natural, fun and immersive moments at events such as Elrow and Chapter XII, that have provided our clients with varied high quality marketing assets and engaging memories for the attendees. We will be utilising this at events around the UK and Europe over the upcoming summer months.
CHAPTER XII FESTIVAL 2016 OVERVIEW The Team 4 photographers + 1 editor providing photographic coverage and live updates throughout the day. Team split by specific stages with one focussing on amenities and subsidiary content.
Critique Our work at Chapter XII produced images that are one of our best examples of how we can cover urban techno events. We regularly use these photographs as a case study for our ability to photograph city day festivals. The dark, gritty surroundings of the various stages around The Rainbow Arenas were enhanced by key pieces of production such as lasers and LED panels. Our team captured the atmosphere of these environments through dark and striking images that picked out moments in the crowd while retaining the scale and moodiness of the spaces. Where we adequately captured the indoor environments at the festival, we were not permitted by the weather to do the same for the outdoor areas of the venue. We aim to deliver that this year, and capture more wide outdoor shots that give more of an overview of the site as a whole.
CHAPTER XIII FESTIVAL Urban. Underground. Raw. Industrial. Edge. Shooting style Our proposed shooting style will let the production heavy nature of Chapter speak for itself and retain a candid stance on crowd photos. We will focus on incorporating the structure and texture of the gritty surroundings into our images, presenting crowd and artists against the backdrop of the neo-futuristic set design, lasers and incredible lighting of the festival. We propose a stylised art direction, placing flashes and shooting through structure of the stages to cast dynamic shadows over subjects and creating drama in our images that will enhance the uniqueness of the venue and the edginess of the music policy.
