D = Has won over this distance
CD = Has won over this distance at this course
BF = Was a beaten favourite
MORE INFORMATION ON THE FORM
- = New racing season
/ = Missed racing season
P = Was pulled-up and didn’t finish the race
F = Horse fell
U = Rider unseated
R = Horse refused to race
CO = The horse was forced out of a race by a loose horse
B = Horse was brought down
S = Horse slipped
r = The horse ran around a jump or took the wrong course in a flat race
d = Disqualified
Bold form
figures = performance in all-weather (Flat) or Point-to-Point (Jump) races
How the experts rate the horse’s chances:
2. BHA rating = the higher the number, the better the horse.
3. Timeform view and TFR rating
Look out for the summary of leading course trainers before each race
Listen out for any jockeys who are having a successful day.
6. Owner’s colours worn by the Jockey
7. Saddlecloth number
8. Horse’s name
9. Days since the horse last run
10. Horse’s age
11. Jockey’s weight (stone and Ibs)
12. The horse’s breeding – father (sire) and mother (dam)
13. Horse’s owner
14. Horse’s breeder
15. Birthplace of horse (outside GB)
Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number
Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.
We need your support!
Park Palace Ponies is a unique inner-city riding school in Liverpool’s Dingle area, offering local children the chance to learn to ride. This experience boosts confidence, mental wellbeing, and fosters a connection with animals. Our mission is to make riding accessible to all, regardless of background, and bring the benefits of equestrian education to the city.
In addition to riding lessons, we provide equine welfare and therapeutic sessions for children from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, local schools, and vulnerable adults. Our volunteers find a welcoming space where they can connect and grow.
Now a registered charity, we need further funding to continue our work. Your support through donations, grants, or sponsorships would directly help us maintain our facilities, care for our ponies, and keep our programs accessible and affordable. To explore partnership opportunities, please contact Jane Beirne at parkpalaceponies@gmail.com or 07909877525.

No Risk Des Flos and last year’s winner Richmond Lake both resumed with promising reappearance efforts and head up the dangers.

TRAINER: VENETIA WILLIAMS
JOCKEY: LUCY TURNER
OWNER: DAVID & CAROL SHAW
The 2023 renewal saw Chambard land this valuable prize for Venetia Williams, helped out by the heavy-going on the day.
Following up from an encouraging second at the Cheltenham NovemberMeeting,Chambard showed the benefit of that run with a decisive victory on his first effort over these fences. At home on the testing going, this was his first win since the Kim Muir success in 2022, and it once again highlighted the brilliance of his trainer
Always kept prominent by Lucy Turner, who claimed5lbontheday,hermountneverseemed to stop finding at each fence. Eventually taking the lead in the 17th fence, the veteran proved the best on the day and went further and further clear to bolt home by 13 lengths.
Coko Beach ran a stormer off 162 to finish second and fended off the well-handicapped Percussion, with the pair pulling nicely clear of the remainder 8⁄12
Looking to complete the Grand Sefton-Becher double is the strong market leader KingTurgeon, who also bids to complete a hat-trick.
Effectively 2lb well in when winning at Chepstow, the joint-youngest horse in the race gave a fine display when tackling this trickiertask here last month.
Proving he has what it takes overthe Grand National fences and over a shortertrip, he looks certain to run another strong race, albeit up 8lb
Although not getting any younger at the age of 12, the testing ground will be sure to suit last year’s winner Chambard again.
He has been below-par since landing this contest 12 months ago but continues to slide down the handicap A return to these fences could be what the veteran has been waiting for and he has proven a true stayer.
The Tom Lacey-trained Cruz Control has been heavily supported since the market opened and could be worth taking a chance on.
A Premier Handicap winner of at the Grand National Festival last year, this looks to have been the target for a while.
He’s had a prep run over hurdles which should make him primed for this and he could end up setting too strong of a gallop from the front.
Following an excellent third 12 months ago, Laura Morgan bids to go two places better this year and saddles Percussion once again.
He has showed these fences hold no terror over him by running numerous respectable effort over these larger fences and he can’t be dismissed.

Several promising types on show, with HONKY TONK HIGHWAY the pick on the back of a highly encouraging hurdles debut second to a potentially smart novice at Warwick. The bumper she landed here in March was a decent contest (the second and third have both won over hurdles since) and she is open to plenty of improvement. HENRI THE SECOND, a Grade 2 winner here as a novice, made an encouraging return to action when fourth back at this venue last month and, with the step up to a staying trip well worth exploring (bred to stay well), he’s an appealing candidate West To The Bridge and Dubrovnik Harry head the dangers in an intriguing handicap
TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.HENRITHE
The Henry VIII chase has a fine record for producing stars of the future. This two mile chase has been graced in the past by many a superstar, not least Altior in 2016, with the race forming part of his record-beating run of Grade 1 wins. He would also later go on to win the Betfair Tingle Creek Chase, today’s feature, and that has become a common theme in recent years. The 2021 winner, Edwardstone, followed the same path in winning the Henry VIII followed by the Betfair Tingle Creek in 2022 and history repeated itself with Jonbon landing the spoils in today’s feature two years ago. L’EAU DU SUD looks a highly talented novice that could go right to the top, so keeping a keen eye on this year’s outcome could prove a shrewd move.

PLAY SMARTER
This race has been won by some top chasers over the years and DOWN MEMORY LANE is taken to add his name to the roll ofhonour He jumped with aplomb when making a successful debut in this sphere at Navan and he has the potential to take high rank in the 2m novice chasers’ division. That remark also applies to L’Eau du Sud, who made it 2-2 overfences with an impressive display at Cheltenham. He is the main danger ahead ofthe selection’s stablemate Touch Me Not and chase debutant Rubaud.

Pioneering equine vision research showed the clarity of jumps could be improved by changing markers from orange to white. So that’s what we did. horsepwr.co.uk
One of the stand-out two mile chases of the season, the Betfair Tingle Creek attracts the best of the best. First run in 1969 as the Benson & Hedges Gold Cup, the race has been graced by some of the true greats in its deep history. Desert Orchid is a name that jumps out on any roll of honour and won the race back in 1988 under Simon Sherwood. 11 years later the races’ most successful horse, Flagship Uberalles won the first of this three consecutive victories, spanning 1999-2001. Paul Nicholls won six renewals on the bounce from 2005-2010 with Kauto Star, Master Minded and Twist Magic sharing two wins a piece. Paul Nicholls himself is the race’s leading trainer with a remarkable 12 wins in total. Fast forwarding to more recent times and the list of illustrious names doesn’t stop, with Sprinter Sacre (2012), Sire De Grugy (2013 & 2015) and Altior (2018) all etching their names into history. Today could see us add another name to that impressive list as Jonbon lines up as a heavy favourite after taking this prestigious contest 12 months ago. TOTAL PRIZE FUND OF £175,000 £96,663 TO THE
