THE JOCKEY CLUB WELCOMES YOU

Welcome to Huntingdon Racecourse. Welcome to Huntingdon Racecourse for our final meeting of our season. This is a chance to reflect on a great season here, and celebrate those that have been most successful. I would like to take this chance to thank our sponsors, Northmores, for their generous support of today’s seven races. Looking back, it has certainly been a jumps season to remember. The Grade Two Fitzdares Peterborough Chase was won in spectacular fashion by First Flow, a second win in the race for trainer Kim Bailey, and first for jockey David Bass. We have had a whole host of horses winning at the racecourse throughout the season and would like to say congratulations to each and every winning owner, trainer, jockey and stable staff. I would like to take this time to thank our sponsors of the Huntingdon Racecourse Trainers and Jockeys Championships, Fairfax Saddles. Each of the three leading jockeys will receive one full set of Fairfax Race Exercise Kit, whilst the leading trainer will receive five full sets, the second will receive three full sets and the third will receive one full set. I would like to congratulate Ciaran Gethings, Paddy Brennan and Tom Scudamore who, before racing today, are our top three leading jockeys of the season. Fergal O’Brien is leading the trainer’s championship, with Dan Skelton and Gary Moore hot on his heels. These prizes will be presented following the last race today. Away from the racing, please explore the site to enjoy a host of activities in recognition of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which we are celebrating today. There is something for all the family, with Crown Workshops, Inflatable Fun and Games and Pony Hop Racing. Head down to Lentons Lawn at the front of the racecourse to enjoy these free activities. Looking ahead, tickets are now on sale for when our season kicks off again on 4 October, until the end of 2022. This includes the exciting Peterborough Chase Raceday and one of our most-loved fixtures, Boxing Day at the Races. Tickets are available via our website, or from our office today. We are extremely thankful for your patience as we continue to improve our facilities. Hurdles is the last facility nearing end of completion, but we are delighted that all other areas are now open, with a number of outdoor food concession units in addition for you to choose from. I hope that you have a fantastic time at Huntingdon today, and wish the horses and their connections the very best of luck.

IMPORTANT NOTICES Admission & Conditions Of Entry

Emergency Evacuation

• Entry to the racecourse is subject to the right of the Racecourse Executive to refuse to admit and/or to expel, without prior notice, any person whose behaviour is considered to be unruly or unacceptable or is a disqualified person.

Huntingdon Racecourse has significantly enhanced Safety and Security measures this year to enhance your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency. As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse. In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards. The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area. Should it be necessary to evacuate the course itself, there will be two main options; firstly to return to your vehicles if safe to do so and leave via the main entrance. Secondly, should it not be safe to return to your vehicles, you will be requested to leave via an emergency evacuation gate, either to the assembly Point behind the Clubhouse, overflow to the picnic car park or if both these areas are compromised then to use the Centre of the Course, where you will receive further instructions. It may give you peace of mind if you pre plan and agree a meeting place, just in case you become separated from your party. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember; take your belongings with you under the directions of the Stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area.

• Bringing Food and Drink into the Main Enclosure other than that purchased at the racecourse is prohibited. • Racegoers must at all times comply with any conditions, rules and regulations in operation, including the observance of no drinking areas for safety reasons. • No dogs allowed anywhere on site except guide dogs. Dogs must not be left in vehicles and anyone found leaving a dog in a vehicle may face prosecution. • In the event of racing being abandoned, refunds on tickets purchased will be paid as follows: - Abandonment before completion of the first race - full refund - Abandonment between the conclusion of the first race and third race - racegoers will receive a 50% refund.- Abandonment thereafter - no refund. • All refunds must be claimed within 28 days of the racemeeting. Please send badges with covering letter stating full name and address to: Ticket Refunds, Huntingdon Racecourse, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambs, PE28 4NL. Huntingdon will have no responsibility or liability of any nature in respect of any refund request received after 28 days.

Behaviour And Dress Code The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to all enclosures or to eject any person from the racecourse. When patrons are refused or ejected from the racecourse they will not be entitled to a refund. When leaving the Racecourse please be considerate of our neighbours. The dress code is smart casual. The Racecourse reserves the right to refuse admission to patrons failing to comply with this request.

Health And Safety Notice The Racecourse would be grateful if racegoers would observe all Health and Safety requirements whilst at Huntingdon Racecourse. The Emergency Exits from the Bars onto the Grandstand steppings are painted yellow and we would appreciate it if Racegoers would not stop in this area. We would also be grateful if only those that are Disabled use the Disabled Viewing Ramp and that parents keep a close eye on children and prevent them from climbing on the running rails and getting onto the actual racecourse. We would also like to remind racegoers that the FIRST AID room is located on the ground floor of the Cromwell Stand. Public access is prohibited to the Centre Course.

Racehorse & Jockey Welfare The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority. The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation. The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Huntingdon Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse. In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident vinvolving a jockey.

If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.

Photography Racegoers please note it is not permitted to take photographs on racecourses except within the areas normally open to the public. Amateur photographers must ensure that they do not intrude upon areas used by professional photographers. Flash photography is not permitted in any circumstances.

PLAY SMARTER

EMILY UPJOHN created an excellent impression when winning both starts this season, notably when producing a very good timefigure in the Musidora at York last month. Her form isn’t that much better than some of her rivals’, but she remains a filly with huge potential and she’s likely to be well suited by this extra distance. Tuesday shaped is if this stiffer test will very much suit when placed in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Curragh so rates the main threat ahead of With The Moonlight.
