Huntingdon Racecard - Sunday 8th December

Page 1

WELCOME TO

Welcome to Huntingdon Racecourse.

On behalf of everyone at Huntingdon Racecourse, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our most prestigious meeting of the year, featuring the iconic Peterborough Chase, a jewel in the National Hunt calendar.

Since its inception in 1969, the Peterborough Chase has been graced by some of the sport’s most legendary names. Past champions include the brilliant Best Mate, a three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup hero, and the remarkable Edredon Bleu, who won this race a record-breaking four times and secured Queen Mother Champion Chase glory.

More recently, stars like Top Notch and First Flow have joined the roll of honour, continuing the tradition of excellence.

We are thrilled to have you with us to witness the latest chapter in this race’s storied history. Thank you for your support, and we hope you enjoy the unforgettable action, atmosphere, and hospitality that make Huntingdon Racecourse so special.

Best wishes for a fantastic day, Daniel Craggs

BETTING EXPLAINED

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

How the experts rate the horse’s chances:

PLAY SMARTER

Lewis Saunders partnered BREAD AND BUTTER to a pair ofwins last month and a 6lb rise doesn’t look enough to stop them combining for another success, particularly as the conditions of this race allow his promising rider to claim 8lb In contrast, Callum Pritchard can only take 3lb off Jubilant’s back but James Owen’s charge is a likely improver in handicaps and still rates a potential big threat. Last month’s course scorer Orchestra may prove best of the remainder

ROCK HOUSE mayhave disappointed afterfinishing third in a Chepstow Grade 2 last October, but it looks significant connections are persevering with him so he gets the nod to make a winning return at the expense of GoTo War, who won a couple ofnovice hurdles at Ludlow last season and should have more to offer now handicapping on first start for a new yard

A host in with chances but KAPABILITY marked herself down as a bright prospect when recording a smooth success atAintree 6 weeks ago and, with further improvement on the cards, she’s fancied to remain unbeaten.
