WELCOME TO
A warm welcome to the Rowley Mile for Dubai Future Champions Festival
Friday, the first day of our marquee event of the Newmarket autumn racing calendar featuring two days of top-class racing.
My thanks go to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Godolphin for their generous and ongoing support of this weekend
We would also like to thank bet365, today’s feature race sponsor The prestigious Group One bet365 Fillies’ Mile highlights the future stars of the equine world, bringing the finest fillies of their generation into the spotlight. Recent winners include notable names such as Inspiral (2021) and Ylang Ylang (2023).
TodayweareproudlyhostingaraceinhonouroftheThoroughbredIndustryEmployee Awards, generously sponsored by Godolphin, now in its 21st year. These annual awards celebrate the outstanding dedication and commitment of those working at the grassroots level of horseracing. We are also delighted to have students from Newmarket Academy with us as part of the Godolphin Beacon Project. They have spent the week learning more about the racing industry and visiting various establishments throughout Newmarket To learn more about the Beacon Project, Newmarket Pony Academy and Godolphin Lifetime Care, listen out for interviews throughout the afternoon on our big screen
Away from the racetrack, we encourage you to explore the wide array of food and beverage options available to you. Be sure to take part in Darts with the Stars featuring Keith Deller and Russ Bray, and don’t miss the chance to create an amusing keepsake with our caricaturist There’s something for everyone to enjoy, including live performances by singer James Riley and saxophonist Jackson Butler. Be sure to keep an eye out for The Snapchaps, who will be entertaining racegoers throughout the day. Across the season, we would like to thank the European Breeders Fund for their contributions to prize money and Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai for their continued sponsorship of our Owners and Trainers facility.
Looking ahead to 2025, tickets for our fixtures at the Rowley Mile are now on sale. From top tier racing to entertainment for all the family, there will be something for everyone throughout the season Tickets are available now, and more information can be found at www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/newmarket

The Jockey Club would like to thank our Group Partners for their support in 2024
As a leading distributor of horse feed, bedding and supplements in the greater GCC area, I am once again immensely proud to support the Jockey Club at Newmarket Racecourses for the 2024 season. Newmarket is credited as being where thoroughbred racing first started which is why so many from every corner of the world assemble and appreciate The Rowley Mile and The July Course.
As ever, the enthusiasm of Sophie Able and her team at Newmarket translates into a top class service for Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Stable Staff and for that we are deeply grateful.
I would like to wish all those visiting Newmarket throughout the 2024 season, the very best of luck.
Have a wonderful day at the races today.

THE JULY FESTIVAL 2025
Opening young eyes to the racing and breeding industry, and highlighting Newmarket’s unique position as the historic home of the sport, is a shared vision between Godolphin and The Jockey Club.
Delivered by the charity Racing to School, the Under Starter’s Orders programme invites nine to 10-yearolds from up to 15 local primary schools to three key events each year. By getting up close to the horses and the teams working with them, children gain a greater understanding of the thoroughbred industry and the town’s rich racing heritage.

At Prestige Car Sales, we know a winner when we see one—just ask Nick. While he’s great at spotting a thoroughbred and quick off the mark even he had to admit that our Ferrari takes the biscuit when it comes to speed. With the iconic prancing horse under the hood, this Ferrari is built for performance with style, leaving everything else at the starting gate.
Saddle up at Prestige because when it comes to cars, Nick knows the field from Aston Martin's to Ferrari's and everything in between.
Godolphin Lifetime Care ensures our horses receive the highest standard of care throughout every stage of their lives, whether parenting the next generation at stud or pursuing second careers through the Godolphin Rehoming initiative. Retired thoroughbred racehorses are versatile. They can excel in many disciplines off the track such as dressage, showjumping, eventing, polo, hunting or for pleasure riding or as a companion horse. With retraining, a thoroughbred can be the perfect mount for a competent rider.

PLAY SMARTER
Low-mileage 6-y-o NOBLE DYNASTY has improved again this season, successful over C&D in the spring before landing a Group 3 on the July Course in June. With a line best put through his run at Glorious Goodwood a month later, this has presumably been the target since and he makes plenty of appeal. Royal Scotsman arrives fresher than most and he’s an intriguing contender along with the highly admirable and prolific Quinault. Great Generation is one of the 3-y-os to note

PREVIEW – bet365 FILLIES’ MILE
A field of seven goes to post for today’s Group One highlight, the bet365 Fillies’ Mile.
Since the contest was transferred to Newmarket from Ascot, owner Godolphin has taken it twice with Lyric Of Light (2011) and Certify (2012) This year it is represented by the leading contender DESERT FLOWER Trained by Charlie Appleby, the daughter of Night Of Thunder is unbeaten in three starts, following up a pair of easy seven-furlong victories on the July Course over the summer with a comfortable success when stepped up to a mile in the Group Two May Hill Stakes at Doncaster last month.
No trainer has won the bet365 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket more times than Aidan O’Brien, who has taken the honours on four occasions including with Ylang Ylang 12 months’ ago.
The master of Ballydoyle is three-handed in 2024 with JANUARY, DREAMY and BALLET SLIPPERS. January will be looking to reverse the form with Desert Flower having finished runner-up in the May Hill Stakes while Dreamy is unbeaten in two starts, following up a Goodwood maiden success by taking a Group Three contest at the Curragh Ballet Slippers is out of the six-time Group One winner Magical and got off the mark at the third time of asking at Ascot last month.
Fresh from their success in last weekend’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with Bluestocking, owner Juddmonte, trainer Ralph Beckett and jockey Rossa Ryan team up again and will be hoping for another Group One success with TABITI She will be tackling a mile for the first time but has done nothing wrong so far, following a maiden success on the July Course by landing the Group Three Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury.
There would surely be no more popular winner this afternoon than ANNA SWAN, who is trained in Newmarket by Sir Michael Stoute The 10-times champion trainer has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the season. Racing in the familiar silks of Cheveley Park Stud, Anna Swan has won both her starts to date with comfortable triumphs at Yarmouth and Newbury
Completing the field is the Irish-trained outsider CALIFORNIA DREAMER. Although unsuccessful in six outings she has performed with credit in Group race company, most notably when half-length second in the Group Two Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh in June
10YEAR ROLLOF HONOUR
LASTYEAR’S WINNER YLANG YLANG
TRAINER: AIDAN O’BRIEN JOCKEY: RYAN MOORE
OWNER: MAGNIER, TABOR, SMITH, BRANT, WESTERBERG
Ylang Ylang created a big impression on debut when winning her maiden on debut at the Curragh and was immediately stepped up in grade when trying her hand at the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown which she promptly won comfortably, handling the rise in class with aplomb
She followed that up when third in the Rockfel Stakes, with Shuwari (who opposed her again here) just ahead in second.
She raced in the rear through the early goings before swiftly moving up the field. Taking third from around 1f out she kept on very well to take the lead and the win.

PLAY SMARTER
MOUNT ATLAS had Melrose-winner Tabletalk behind in third when scoring on Ascot handicap debut at the end ofJuly and can make light of a 7lb rise on his first outing since. Kildare Legend looks capable of better again on the back of his Doncaster success last month and is feared most ahead of Sun God, who failed to stay 1 3/4m in the Melrose but was prominent enough for a long way to think his mark is very workable.

PLAY SMARTER
NOVUS proved as good as ever when scoring in listed company at Goodwood last time and appeals as a very solid option in bidding to record back-to-back wins in this contest. Oaks runner-up Dance Sequence is perhaps the stand-out on form and can’t be discounted despite an absence and her high draw, whilst Sound Angela beat several of her opposition at Yarmouth lasttime and should still have plentyinthetank aftera light season, so also makesthe shortlist.
