Stewards Note:
HUNTER LEGEND: Following its run on 9/11/2024 it was reported that the horse was never travelling.
Probable S.P’s: 4-1 Planned Paradise (IRE), 9-2 Hunter Legend (FR), 5-1 Climbing (GB), 13-2 Begin The Luck (IRE), 7-1 No No Tango (GB), 17-2 Slievegar (GB), 10-1 Back Yourself (IRE), 33-1 King of Brazil (GB)
Granted another assured round of jumping, PLANNED PARADISE could be the answer to this trappy-looking handicap chase. He was a good third off this mark in a higher-grade contest at Cheltenham last time and a reproduction ofthat would give him every chance. No NoTango has been absent for over a year but resumes with his new yard in good form and the booking of Patrick Mullins adds to his appeal. Hunter Legend is third choice ahead of Slievegar

PLAY SMARTER
GOLDEN MOVE is yet to match his fairly useful Flat form in this sphere but he’s in good hands and appeals as the type to find improvement making an early switch to handicaps on the back of 7 months off/wind surgery Intrepid Sud is also open to improvement and Sunninghill could up his game in a first-time hood, so it looks a competitive affair for the grade.

TheVenetiaWilliamsyard hastaken it up a notch in recentweeks and FLOWING CADENZA can be the latest returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines to make a winning return at the expense of Sherborne, who is firmly knocking at the door but keeps letting down his supporters (beaten having traded 1.52 in-running or shorter on his last 4 starts) Chasing-debutant I See The Sea rounds off the shortlist.

FRONTIER PRINCE and Trustintimes both shaped like ready-made future winners when runner-up on their respective debuts at Ludlow and Exeter Choosing between them isn’t easy but Frontier Prince, who did well to get within a length of the winner at Ludlow, is marginally preferred given his obvious scope for improvement. Several of the newcomers are appealing on paper, not least Marhaba Prince and Walk In The West.

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards. In addition Wincanton Racecourse employs three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital.
The Horserace Betting Levy Board prize fund schemes provide for the estimated inclusion of £297,624 in ratecard and incremental prize money at this racecourse from 16th September to 31st December 2024
