Alpe cimbra STORIA CULTURA TRADIZIONI Alpe cimbra HISTORY CULTURE TRADITIONS L’ALPE CIMBRA, ovvero Folgaria Lavarone Lusérn con i tanti piccoli villaggi di contorno, è terra millenaria di confine, che porta ancora i segni delle sue antiche radici storiche, dalla colonizzazione tedesco-cimbra alla Prima Guerra Mondiale e Guerra Fredda. Sette magnifiche fortezze, innalzate per difesa in tempo di guerra, da visitare facendo trekking a piedi o in mountain bike, attraversando verdi prati e rigogliose foreste. Musei, mostre, antichi masi, tradizioni autentiche da vivere nei luoghi, nella natura e negli abitanti schietti e generosi.

The ALPE CIMBRA, in other words the Folgaria Lavarone Lusérn area, with several smaller outlying villages, has for thousands of years been a borderland, and still bears the signs of its past, from Germanic-Cimbrian colonisation through to World War I and the Cold War. Seven magnificent fortresses, raised as defences in a time of war, which can be visited hiking or mountain biking across green meadows and lush forests. Museums, exhibitions, ancient masi, or farmsteads, authentic traditions to experience in their native setting amid nature, together with the open and generous inhabitants of the area.

Da percorrere la dorsale cimbra da Folgaria a Lusérn, un itinerario incantevole che passa su strade bianche attraverso tutti i paesi. Molto suggestiva è anche l’escursione alla Strada delle 52 Gallerie, una mulattiera militare costruita durante la prima guerra mondiale sul massiccio del Pasubio. Sull’ALPE CIMBRA sono a disposizione servizi di transfert sui vari percorsi e corsi di apprendimento con istruttori.
KILOMETRE AFTER KILOMETRE OF TRAILS IN A PARK OF GREAT NATURAL BEAUTY STRETCHING OVER 10,500 HECTARES The mountains of the ALPE CIMBRA offer a range of trails suited to hiking and walking enthusiasts of all levels, in a perfect setting: from the easiest walks through meadows and woods to the most demanding mountaineering routes on the rocky heights of Monte Vigolana or Monte Pasubio. Following the Cimbrian ridge from Folgaria to Lusérn, a wonderful route passing through villages, along white tracks. Another very atmospheric option is the Road of 52 Tunnels, a military mule track built during World War I on Monte Pasubio. The ALPE CIMBRA offers transfer services to trails and training courses with instructors.

Nella Forra del Lupo Wolfsschlucht Una lunga trincea di crinale, scavata tra alte pareti di roccia, fatta di feritoie, osservatori e caverne che si affacciano su strapiombi e ripidi pendii, in faccia al Pasubio, la montagna sacra della Grande Guerra. Questa è la Forra del Lupo, la stessa che il soldato Ludwig Fasser ha immortalato con la sua macchina fotografica e il pittore di guerra Albin Egger ha fissato coi pennelli sulla tela...mentre si attendeva l’assalto, la battaglia. Cent’anni dopo le emozioni del tempo si sposano con la quiete della natura, con la bellezza di incredibili panorami... La Forra è ancora priva di segnaletiche direzionali ed è visitabile solo con visita accompagnata: vedi il calendario degli eventi estivi dell’Azienda per il Turismo.
IN THE GORGE OF THE WOLF A series of defensive works along a ridge, dug between rock walls, made up of pillboxes, observation points and caves overlooking sheer drops and steep slopes, on the face of Monte Pasubio, that sacred mountain of World War I. This is the Gorge of the Wolf, the same place the soldier Ludwig Fasser immortalised with his camera and the war painter Albin Egger rendered in his canvasses... as the soldiers sat there waiting for attack, battle. One hundred years later the turmoil of those times blends with the peace of nature, with the beauty of incredible views... The Gorge is still without trail markers and may only be visited with a guide: see the Tourist Office’s calendar of summer events.

I percorsi si snodano tutti attorno alla dorsale Folgaria Lavarone Lusérn, con la possibilità di utilizzare impianti di risalita per arrivare in alta quota senza difficoltà. In qualsiasi momento si può utilizzare un servizio navetta per fare ritorno al proprio hotel e godersi appieno l’escursione. Da questi sentieri, volendo allontanarsi a più ampi orizzonti, si può sconfinare fino alla vicina Valsugana, il Lago di Garda e gli altipiani di Asiago.

The trails all wind around the Folgaria-Lavarone-Luserna ridge, with the possibility of using skilift facilities to gain altitude more comfortably. There is also a shuttle service to bring you back to your hotel at any point and allow you to fully enjoy your outing. Anyone wishing to leave these trails in search of broader horizons can strike out for the neighbouring Valsugana, Lake Garda and the Asiago mountain area.

Sull’ALPE CIMBRA non manca niente, nemmeno per gli amanti di uno degli sport più esclusivi. Un favoloso campo a 18 buche a Costa di Folgaria. Il percorso si snoda da Maso Spilzi, a Malga Schwenter passando per il biotopo di Ecken, pregiata area protetta di interesse naturalistico. Il Maso, grande edificio rurale risalente al 1700, ospita la Club House con raffinato ristorante.
LE CARATTERISTICHE Par 72 con uno sviluppo complessivo di 5472m. Dotato di driving range e ristorante, con la recente apertura del percorso Malga Schwenter il campo è diventato il secondo percorso del Trentino a 18 buche. The ALPE CIMBRA has everything, even for lovers of one of the most exclusive of sports, in the form of a fabulous 18-hole course in Costa di Folgaria. The course extends from the Maso Spilzi to the Malga Schwenter, by way of the Ecken biotope, a protected area of great naturalistic interest. The Maso Spilzi, a large rural building dating back to the 1700s, contains the Club House and elegant restaurant.

I CENTO ANNI DELLA GRANDE GUERRA Cent’anni fa, la Grande Guerra. Di quel drammatico evento l’ALPE di Folgaria, Lavarone e Lusérn custodisce sette possenti fortezze di cemento e acciaio, teatro di aspri combattimenti. Oggi i forti sono spettacolari punti panoramici, mèta di escursioni e passeggiate a piedi, in mountain bike, a cavallo o in nordic walking. A cent’anni di distanza ricordiamo il grande conflitto. Lo vogliamo ricordare con commemorazioni, spettacoli teatrali, concerti, trekking ed escursioni sui luoghi di battaglia. Qui, dove passò la guerra, pulsa ora un cuore di pace.
ONE HUNDRED YEARS SINCE WORLD WAR I The ALPE of Folgaria, Lavarone and Lusérn retains seven imposing fortresses from those times of war, built out of cement and steel, the sites of terrible battles. Today the forts make for spectacular elements of the landscape, a destination to be reached on foot - by hikers and Nordic walkers, or on mountainbike and horseback. One century on we recall that great conflict and aim to commemorate it with events, plays, concerts, hikes and excursions to the battlefields. A peaceful heart beats where once there was war.
LA Storia 28 luglio 1914. Quel giorno di metà estate, era un martedì, l’ Austria-Ungheria lanciò il suo ultimatum alla Serbia. La Serbia rifiutò le condizioni imposte da Vienna e fu la guerra: fu la prima guerra mondiale. Tre giorni dopo, il 31 luglio, nei paesi e nelle valli del Trentino (allora territorio austro-ungarico), anche sull’ALPE, apparvero dei grandi manifesti bianchi con un titolo a grandi caratteri: Avviso di mobilizzazione generale. Il manifesto diceva che tutti gli uomini tra i 21 e i 42 anni erano tenuti a raggiungere quanto prima i distretti militari di Trento e Rovereto. Di lì a poco gli stessi uomini sarebbero saliti sui treni, destinazione il fronte, la Serbia e il terribile fronte russo.

28 July 1914. That day in the middle of summer was a Tuesday. Austria-Hungary issued its last ultimatum to Serbia. Serbia refused the conditions imposed by Vienna and war was declared: the first real ‘world war’. Three days later, on 31 July, large white posters appeared in the villages and valleys of Trentino (at that time Austro-Hungarian territory), including the ALPE, that read in large letters: Notice of General Mobilisation. The notices stated that all men between the ages of 21 and 42 were required to report as soon as possible to the military districts of Trento and Rovereto. Not long after, these men would embark on trains for the Serbian or the terrible Russian front.

GENUINE TENTAZIONI CIMBRE Il famoso e saporito formaggio d’alpeggio Vezzena, lo speck profumato, la polenta calda che accompagna i funghi prelibati raccolti la mattina stessa e poi lo strudel, lo zelten natalizio, per finire con il miele puro di montagna al quale l’ALPE ha dedicato addirittura un museo, tutto questo è la cultura culinaria cimbra, da gustare negli hotel, nelle baite e rifugi, nei tipici ristoranti con tradizionali ricette o nei ristoranti più alla moda in raffinati sapori, accompagnati dai sublimi vini trentini.
GENUINE CIMBRIAN TEMPTATIONS The famous and flavoursome cheeses of the pastures of Vezzena, fragrant Speck, hot polenta as an accompaniment to the much-prized mushrooms gathered fresh in the morning, followed by Strudel, Christmas Zelten, and finally that pure mountain honey to which the ALPE has even devoted a museum. All part of Cimbrian cuisine, to be enjoyed in the hotels, the Alpine huts and refuges, in the many restaurants offering traditional dishes or in more refined versions in fashionable eateries, of course accompanied by the wonderful wines of Trentino.

TRADIZIONI E FOLCLORE TRADITIONS AND FOLKLORE
RIVIVERE IL TEMPO PASSATO L’ALPE CIMBRA è un territorio ricco di tradizioni rurali di montagna, in cui i piccoli villaggi hanno mantenuto le caratteristiche autentiche del passato, a cominciare da Lusérn, l’isola cimbra delle Alpi in cui l’antica lingua è ancora parlata. Tradizioni sono le radici tirolesi della gente che abita questi luoghi, i gruppi folcloristici come la Banda, gli innumerevoli cori di montagna e i Kaiserjäger con gli Schützen, e ancora arte da vivere nelle tante mostre, musei ed esposizioni durante tutto l’anno. Tradizione è anche architettura, che ritroviamo negli storici edifici, come il misterioso maso-castello Spilzi, la casa-museo cimbra (Haus Von Prukk), la magica chiesetta di Piccoli, le case dipinte di Guardia e l’incantevole Castel Beseno. E ancora, la manifestazione Serrada Futurista ispirata al futurismo di Depero, la tradizionale fiera contadina dell’8 di settembre o il folclore della sfilata di carri e musiche della strega Brava Part, che dal rio Cavallo spaventava i bambini con il suo canto. The ALPE CIMBRA is an area rich in rural mountain traditions, where the little villages have managed to hold onto many genuine features of the past, starting with Luserna or Lusérn, that Cimbrian island in the Alps where the ancient language is still spoken. Traditions form the Tyrolean roots of the people who live here, with folk groups like La Banda, the many mountain choirs and the historical costumes and uniforms... and art to be experienced in the museums and in the many shows and exhibitions held throughout the year. Tradition also means architecture, as found in the historical buildings, including the mysterious farmhousecastle of Spilzi, the Cimbrian house-museum (Haus Von Prukk), the magical little church of Piccoli, the painted houses of Guardia and the charming Castel Beseno. There’s more: Serrada Futurista, the artistic event inspired by the futurist Fortunato Depero, the traditional Country Fair of 8 September or the traditional floats and music honouring the witch Brava Part, who scared people away from the River Cavallo with her fearsome singing.

LA SFILATA DELLA BRAVA PART L’ultima domenica di Agosto nella tradizione locale la strega Brava Part si mette alla testa della lunga fila di carri colorati e gruppi musicali, per dare vita alla spettacolare manifestazione folcloristica a lei dedicata. THE BRAVA PART PARADE On the last Sunday in August, in keeping with local tradition, the witch Brava Part heads a long parade of coloured floats and musical groups, for a spectacular traditional event in her name.
100 KM DEI FORTI A Giugno tre giorni di gare tra Folgaria, Lavarone e Lusérn, una gran fondo con un percorso classic e uno marathon, una vera e propria ghiottoneria per i campioni così come per gli amatori. 100 KM OF FORTS June brings three days of racing in Folgaria, Lavarone and Lusérn: a classic cross-country MTB event and a longer marathon event, drawing sporting champions and amateurs alike.
