With 5 interlinked massifs, each with their own character, La Clusaz is one giant playground. You can vary the fun as you follow the line of the sun from the Etale massif to the Balme massif. The area peaks at 2600m altitude and has one of the biggest vertical drops of over 1500m descent with the added bonus of outstanding views! Over the 84 slopes there are 125kms* of descent all linked by a top-class ski lift network to allow you to easily access the centre of the village on skis. Het skigebied bestaat uit vĳf delen die onderling met elkaar verbonden zĳn. Beginners en ervaren wintersporters kunnen hier eindeloos genieten. Alle skiërs komen hier aan hun trekken en u kunt zelfs de zon volgen door te beginnen bĳ het Étale-massief en te eindigen bĳ het Balme-massief. De top van het domein ligt op 2.600 meter en biedt een van de langste besneeuwde afdalingen van meer dan 1.500m met adembenemende uitzichten! De 84 pistes zĳn goed voor 125 km afdalingen** uitgerust met goed netwerk aan skiliften. U kunt op de ski’s het dorpscentrum bereiken.

Since 2012, La Clusaz has carried out a major investment programme on the resort and the ski area, and it has continued on the runs of the Crêt du Merle and its ski lifts. A brand-new 6-seater chair lift for more speed, comfort and higher capacity was inaugurated last winter accompanied by a totally new chairlift station.

Het investeringsprogramma voor dit skistation begon in 2012 en omvatte een complete heraanlegging van de Crêt du Merle-piste en skiliften. Een volledig nieuwe ontkoppelde stoeltjeslift met 6 zitplaatsen, sneller, met een grotere capaciteit en zeer comfortabel, werd in de winter van 2017-2018 geopend, samen met een gloednieuw vertrekstation dat zich beter in het landschap past.

LCZ Family Run by Columbia

PUSHING THE LIMITS La Clusaz is well known for its exceptional off-piste skiing, its unique geographical location and its impressive and magnificent coombs. It has long become established as the hub of « Freeriding » and is well known as a great destination for freeriders, where after just 20 minutes’ walk you can access breath-taking untouched slopes. It comes as little surprise that the resort has been a hotbed of champions for generations with the recent two-times world champion Loic Collomb Patton, you are more than likely to spot some as you ski down.

GRENZEN VERLEGGEN Dankzĳ de geografische ligging in de bergen, biedt La Clusaz meerdere off-piste mogelĳkheden en staat het bekend voor zĳn prachtige valleien. Het is een paradĳs voor liefhebbers van ski freeride (of off-piste skiën op speciaal aangelegde pistes) en daarom vindt men hier enorm veel freeriders die het gebied met lange, onaangetaste afdalingen op minder dan 20 minuten lopen speciaal waarderen. Een aantal wereldkampioenen en talentvolle freeriders hebben hier de sneeuwsporten ontdekt (zoals Loic Collomb Patton, twee keer wereldkampioen in deze sport). U hebt grote kans één van hen tegen te komen in de bocht of bovenaan de berg.

SKI FREESTYLE TAKE TO THE AIR As the undisputed epicentre of Freestyle, the resort has established two areas for beginners and experienced skiers, to enjoy practising and training in this discipline.

Located in the Mini Loup sector, it’s the ideal zone to learn the basics of Freestyle. Skiers and snowboarders can have fun as they safely try out the discipline. LCZ Family Run is also a giant picnic area open to all and the track that leads to the obligatory selfie in front of the : L . A . C . L . U . S . A . Z letters!

LCZ Park by Columbia The La Clusaz snowpark has been renamed « LCZ Park by Columbia » in collaboration with an association of local riders. It’s a great location for freestyle enthusiasts! There is a multitude of modules with big air, rails and boxes…and is open all season for the some of the most fearless and crazy skiers to express themselves.

MET DE BENEN DE LUCHT IN Het skioord is de bestemming bij uitstek voor Freestyle-skiërs en heeft twee uitdagende en leerzame gebieden voor beginnende tot ver gevorderde freestyle-liefhebbers:

LCZ Family Run by Columbia Deze zone ligt in het gebied Mini Loup en is ideaal voor beginnende Freestylers. Hier kunnen zowel skiërs als snowboarders de beginselen van deze sport veilig onder de knie krijgen. Maar de LCZ Family Run heeft ook een grote picknickplaats die voor iedereen toegankelijk is en tevens de plek voor een selfie voor de letters L . A . C . L . U . S . A . Z

LCZ Park by Columbia Het snowpark van La Clusaz is omgedoopt tot “LCZ Park by Colombia”, verwijzend naar de lokale riders, en is een uitdagende zone voor alle liefhebbers van freestyle! Talrijke modules (big air, rails, box...) zijn het hele seizoen toegankelijk zodat de meest dwaze skiërs al hun creativiteit kunnen uitdrukken.

La Clusaz has been organising the famous Christmas « Pestacles » for nearly 20 years, the biggest, family, street theatre festival organised in the winter in the Alps. From 24th to 31st December, people of all ages gather in the village for a magical and wonderful celebration of Christmas in the heart of the Aravis. During the week, magicians, puppeteers, story tellers, jugglers, singers, musicians, artists and dancers put on spectacular shows for all the family. The “Pestacles” are all about celebrating in a Christmas wonderland.

Al bijna 20 jaar organiseert La Clusaz het beroemde ‘Pestacles’, het grootste festival van straatkunst voor gezinnen, georganiseerd in de winter in de bergen. Even in the mountains we are up to date with the digital age! The brand new co-working space called “Le Pèle coworking”, the local word for a small room heated by a wood burning stove, opened last winter in the heart of the village. Holiday makers, travelling workers and local business people can work alongside in this warm and friendly workspace.
