Of course, it’s a winter sports resort, but more than that, it’s a charming place surrounded by outstanding landscapes. From a general point of view, the easy-going welcome from the local population and the friendly seasonal workers makes for an extremely pleasant stay. You are always made to feel welcome in the right way, there’s no over-doing it, simple and honest, something that is hard to find these days. We’ve been coming back in winter and summer for years and we have never been disappointed. 27 februari 2019 - Platasurfer Het is niet alleen een skioord, maar vooral een dorp: de gastvrijheid is geweldig Een wintersportgebied, dat staat buiten kijf, maar het is vooral een plek met een geweldige charme, omringd door fantastische panorama’s. De bevolking (middenstanders) en de seizoenswerkers maken het verblijf over het algemeen zeer aangenaam. We hebben met echte mensen te maken, die je graag te woord staan. Je voelt je altijd welkom en wordt met eenvoud en vriendelijkheid te woord gestaan, dit is zo zeldzaam dat het belangrijk is om te onderstrepen. Winter, zomer, wij komen hier al jaren en worden nooit teleurgesteld. 23 februari 2019 - 425arnaudd Mooi skioord met een hartelijke ziel Ook al ski je niet, het oord is heel charmant en alles ligt vlakbij het centrum. Een speciale vermelding voor het buitenbad, dat in de winter geopend is met uitzicht op de pistes! Het skigebied is afwisselend en voor alle niveaus, er ligt goede sneeuw, zelfs als het warm is want er zijn pistes op 2600 m hoogte.

The area peaks at 2600m altitude and has one of the biggest vertical drops of over 1500m descent and with outstanding views! Over the 84 slopes there are 125kms** of descent all linked by a top-class ski lift network to allow you to easily access the centre of the village on skis.

Since 2012, La Clusaz has carried out a major investment programme on the resort and the ski area, most recently on the runs of the Crêt du Merle and its ski lifts. A brandnew 6-seater chair lift for more speed, comfort and higher capacity was inaugurated last winter accompanied by a totally new chairlift station.

Het investeringsprogramma voor dit skistation begon in 2012 en omvatte een complete heraanlegging van de Crêt du Merle-piste en skiliften. Een volledig nieuwe ontkoppelde stoeltjeslift met 6 zitplaatsen, sneller, met een grotere capaciteit en zeer comfortabel, werd in de winter van 2017-2018 geopend, samen met een gloednieuw vertrekstation dat zich beter in het landschap past.

FEEL FREE SKI SKI FREERIDE PUSHING THE LIMITS

FREE STYLE

La Clusaz is well known for its exceptional off-piste skiing, its unique geographical location and its impressive and magnificent coombs. It has long been established as the hub of « Freeriding » and is well known as a great destination for freeriders, where after just 20 minutes’ walk you can access breath-taking untouched slopes. It comes as little surprise that the resort has been a hotbed for champions for generations with most recently, Loic Collomb Patton, twice world champion. You are more than likely to spot some as you ski down.

LCZ Family Run by Columbia

SKI FREESTYLE TAKE TO THE AIR As the undisputed epicentre of Freestyle, the resort has established two areas to enjoy practising and training in this discipline for beginners and experienced skiers.

LCZ Family Run by Columbia Located on the Mini Loup sector, it’s the ideal zone to learn the basics of Freestyle. Skiers and snowboarders can have fun as they safely try out the discipline. LCZ Family Run is also a giant picnic area open to all and the track that leads to the obligatory selfie in front of the L.A.C.L.U.S.A.Z letters

LCZ Park by Columbia

Dankzij de geografische ligging in de bergen, biedt La Clusaz meerdere off-piste mogelijkheden en staat het bekend voor zijn prachtige valleien. Het is een paradijs voor liefhebbers van ski freeride (of off-piste skiën op speciaal aangelegde pistes) en daarom vindt men hier enorm veel freeriders die het gebied met lange, onaangetaste afdalingen op minder dan 20 minuten lopen speciaal waarderen. Dit is het gebied van wereldkampioenen en talentvolle freeriders (zoals Loic Collomb Patton, twee keer wereldkampioen in deze sport). Grote kans dat u één van hen tegenkomt in een bocht of bovenop een bergkam.

The La Clusaz snowpark has been renamed « LCZ Park by Columbia » in collaboration with an association of local riders. It’s a great location for freestyle enthusiasts! There is a multitude of modules with big air, rails and boxes... it is open all season for endless fun for some of the most fearless and crazy skiers.

MET DE BENEN DE LUCHT IN Het skioord is de bestemming bij uitstek voor Freestyle-skiërs en heeft twee uitdagende en leerzame gebieden voor beginnende tot ver gevorderde freestyle-liefhebbers:

Deze zone ligt in het gebied Mini Loup en is ideaal voor beginnende Freestylers. Hier kunnen zowel skiërs als snowboarders de beginselen van deze sport veilig onder de knie krijgen, terwijl ze zich vermaken met een enorme matras in de vorm van een lokale ram. Maar de LCZ Family Run heeft ook een grote picknickplaats die voor iedereen toegankelijk is en maak hier ook de verplichte selfie voor de letters “ L

LCZ Park by Columbia Het snowpark van La Clusaz is omgedoopt tot “LCZ Park by Colombia”, verwijzend naar de lokale riders, en is een uitdagende zone voor alle liefhebbers van freestyle! Talrijke modules (big air, rails, box...) zijn het hele seizoen toegankelijk zodat de meest dwaze skiërs al hun creativiteit kunnen uitdrukken.

SKI FREERANDO BACK TO THE ROOTS Ski touring is making a comeback. It is attracting a new breed of people looking for a more ecological approach and to experience the wilderness in the mountains. Knowledge and experience are required when heading off the beaten track, but novices can try ski touring risk free, on the 2 marked tracks in La Clusaz.

NOG VERDER GAAN Toerskiën is weer populair en trekt een publiek aan dat in deze manier van skiën een ecologische manier ziet om de bergen te beleven, zo dicht mogelijk bij de ongerepte natuur. Toerskiën buiten de aangelegde paden vergt ervaring en kennis maar beginners kunnen deze activiteit ontdekken op de 2 uitgestippelde paden bij La Clusaz.

APRÈS-SKI CULTURE After all this effort on the slopes, you deserve some relaxation! Aprèsski is an essential part of life in La Clusaz whether it’s on the several terraces on the mountain overlooking the village or at the bottom of the slopes that lead straight to the centre of the village. The resort is lively and dynamic and well known for its warm and festive atmosphere where the party goes on well into the wee small hours. The nightlife is full of surprises!

Night becomes day in La Clusaz when the village is lit up by the moon and the stars. The slopes are opened especially for the evening, lit only by the light of the moon. The atmosphere is full of fun all along the slopes, as the restaurants and bars stay open for a totally unique and unforgettable skiing experience.

ADE LOKALE APRÈS-SKI CULTUUR Na inspanning is het tijd voor ontspanning! Of het nu plaatsvindt op één van de vele hooggelegen terrassen of op de pistes die in het dorpscentrum eindigen, après-skiën maakt onlosmakelijk deel uit van de gewoontes en gebruiken in La Clusaz. FULL MOON PARTY Opdat de avonden net zo onvergetelijk worden als de dagen, wordt La Clusaz vrolijk verlicht en is de sterrenhemel de horizon. De skipistes gaan open in de avond met als enig licht de maneschijn, wat voor een unieke glijsensatie zorgt, in een hele feestelijke sfeer dankzij de betrokkenheid van de hooggelegen restaurants en cafés van het oord. RadiO MEUh CirCuS fEsTival … RADIOMEUH CIRCUS FESTIVAL : to the sounds of the most famous, French webradio ! From Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th March 2020 RadioMeuh is the only webradio that has it’s own festival. It’s the most famous web radio in France and was founded in La Clusaz in 2007. RadioMeuh is the most listened to web radio in France with 3.3 million listeners per month around the world. “La Meuh”, meaning the “the Moo,” refers to the founders who live in the mountains, in La Clusaz the land of Reblochon! The festival welcomes around 10 artists under the circus tent over 3 evenings from 9pm, but there are also around 15 off sessions from 12pm to 8pm on restaurant terraces on the slopes and for après-ski over 4 days.

Het festival verwelkomt gedurende 3 avonden en vanaf 21 uur een tiental artiesten in de tent maar organiseert ook 5 dagen lang een vijftiental miniconcerten van 12 tot 20 uur op de terrassen van restaurants op de pistes en op après-ski locaties.

La Clusaz is renovating its nursery to welcome easier very young children. The new multi-child space could take care of 27 children from 2.5 months to 4 years old. It integrate a 50m² motor room and a 15m² water games room to offer various educational activities. The tourist daycare centre will be able to accommodate 24 children from 8 months to 4 years old.

CRÊCHE: ALLES VOOR DE ALLERKLEINSTEN! Om de opvang van zeer jonge kinderen te vergemakkelijken, is La Clusaz bezig met de renovatie van de ruimte voor jonge kinderen. Voortaan kan de kleuterschool met meerdere kinderen het hele jaar door 27 kinderen van 2,5 maanden tot 4 jaar oud opvangen. De kleuterschool beschikt over een camperkamer van 50 m² en een waterspelletjesruimte van 15 m² met verschillende educatieve activiteiten. Het toeristisch dagverblijf zal plaats bieden aan 24 kinderen van 8 maanden tot 4 jaar oud.

La Clusaz has been organising the famous Christmas « Pestacles » for nearly 20 years, the biggest, winter, family, street theatre festival in the Alps. From 24th to 31st December, people of all ages gather in the village for a magical and wonderful celebration of Christmas in the heart of the Aravis. During the week, magicians, puppeteers, story tellers, jugglers, singers, musicians, artists and dancers put on spectacular shows for all the family. Celebrate Christmas in a winter wonderland with the “Pestacles. »
