The Family run is a great area for both relaxing and trying out new sensations. It has 3 tracks for beginners to expert freestyle skiers, each slope has a different degree of difficulty so everyone can safely enjoy the modules and slopes. You can then relax beside the giant « LA CLUSAZ » letters, now placed to provide a stunning background of the Etale and Tournette mountains for that perfect holiday snap. You can even climb the giant podium to feel like a real champion! Freerando attracts skiers looking for a more ecological approach and to head off the beaten track and fully appreciate the silence and peace in the forests and gullies, knowledge and experience are required, however novices can try ski touring, risk free on the 2 marked tracks in La Clusaz.
La Clusaz is participating in its own way towards the protection of the planet with some local initiatives to let you enjoy the mountains while respecting the environment.
• BEAUREGARD TRACK The idyllic, forest track on Beauregard is 5km long with a small 600m vertical rise and is ideal for first ascents using ski skins. • ÉTALE TRACK The Etale track with its 700m of vertical rise and some at 30°, is more of a challenge. Some experience of conversions is required as it is a steep climb! It is less isolated from the downhill skiers than the Beauregard track, but the arrival at the Belvédère is well worth the climb for an uninterrupted vista over the Mont Blanc.

Many chalets around the village still have the wooden roof times known as “tavaillon”. Former tourist office front desk manager, Dorothée loves life in the resort and living with the changing seasons. As a career change she trained in reflexology in 2015 to be able to spend more time with her children. She was motivated by how reflexology improves the immune system and decided to train further in aromatherapy. LITTLE HEROS PARADISE FOR THE LITTLE ONES To make it easier to welcome toddlers, La
Clusaz is renovating its early childhood space. From now on, the multi-child nursery will be able to take care of 27 children from 2.5 months to 4 years old all year round and will integrate a 50m² motor room and a 15m² water games room to offer various educational activities. This new space was built to reduce its environmental impact.

LE HAMEAU DES ALPES : A MUSEUM WITH A DIFFERENCE
Skiing runs in the family with the Hallants. The youngest in the family joined the French Ski School in La Clusaz, 2 years ago, completing the line up with Lydie (28 years), Elise (26 years), Adèle (24 years) and Emma (21 years). They all trained with the Club des Sports in the resort, with the older sisters spending time on the FIS circuit, before teaching here. They each have their own marked character, but each have something in common; their smile and desire to teach!
Born in Haute Savoie, Benoît Buratti started skiing moguls from the age of 9 when he started freestyle skiing. At 12 he decided to opt for slopestyle and quickly developped, joining the La Clusaz Club des Sports in 2014. He continued improving through highs and lows culminating in a qualification for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He has since continued his international career, while also filmmaking and inspiring others with his graceful style and technique. Look out for him in competition this winter, he is currently member of the French Ski Team, a Faction athlete, French Big Air vice-champion 2019 and best French skier in the worldwide classification!
PATRICK AGNELLET THE ARTIST CHOCOLATIER
Local Pâtissier-chocolatier Patrick Agnellet has an international reputation and is dedicated to his work as an artform. Located in La Clusaz, he has won several awards and is part of the very selective circle of Relais Desserts. His exceptional, original creations include an alphabet of flavours, a box set of 26 original chocolates and a collection of Gourmand’art, works of art, made entirely of chocolate. In the centre of the resort, the Au Cœur du Village hotel pays special attention to children during the school holidays. They can have great fun in dedicated childfriendly spaces where they can eat with their friends at the kid’s buffet, watch a film in the cinema room and create delicious treats at a patisserie workshop. What would the Aravis be with the most famous of local products, Reblochon Fermier? La Clusaz is a great place to find out about alpine heritage. There are regular visits and tours organized by heritage guides around the village and farms. The “Hameau des Alpes“on the Nom stream, close to the village centre is now open all year round. Here you can discover all about fascinating local history, with fun activities around the making of Reblochon Fermier, a museum where you can learn all about the evolution of skiing, a traditional village oven, lofts and a former saw mill.

LCZ FREESTYLE SHOW From 13th to 14th the March 2020 La Clusaz’ champions, from Edgar Grospiron, to Candide Thovex and Loïc Collomb-Patton have continuously worked towards helping their discipline evolve in the world of ski. They have decided to unite with future stars of their discipline in a common goal to share their passion and increase the exposure of their sport. They call themselves LCZ, original Riders Factory. This year for the third time, the resort is organising the « LCZ Freestyle Show », bringing together the best French skiers from the Freestyle section in the La Clusaz Sports Club. It kicks off a weekend of exhilarating entertainment to shake the mountains to their core!

The group of enthusiastic music-lovers and artists from the famous local webradio have created an event that is increasingly talked about in the world of music. For four days and three nights the whole valley grooves to the sounds of RadioMeuh with events on the slopes open to all and three evenings under the circus tent. There is a style for everyone, ranging from electro, soul, afro beat, hip-hop, disco or rock. The co-working space called “Le Pèle coworking”, the local word for a small room heated by a wood burning stove, opened in December 2017 in the heart of the village. Holidaymakers, travelling workers and local business people can work alongside in this warm and friendly workspace. Included in the space is a printer-scanner, print service, domiciliation of company service and secretarial services. And for all the hard workers, unlimited tea and coffee!
