For many years my life was in the corporate world.

I worked in Digital Marketing, was in the digital marketing business and got involved in a number of technology start-ups.

But I was so burned out dealing with the complexities of businesses with lots of people and other things over which I had no control, that I decided to look at starting my own Internet business.

Like you, I had heard all kinds of fantastic claims about people making $19,487 in three weeks or $150,000 per year working part time.

That got my attention, but knowing the business world as well as I do, I found these claims VERY HARD to swallow.

Looking for What Works So prior to making the decision to start an online business, I spent the better part of a year reading, studying and researching.

I wanted to find out what really worked for the people who succeeded and to discover why so many people FAILED. I spent a lot of time surfing and visiting sites.

I bought and read a lot of Books. I bought courses on how to market on the Internet.

I interviewed successful internet marketers. And I spent $5,000 on Big Seminars where I met some heavy hitters.

Being Overwhelmed At first I WAS OVERWHELMED. There was so much to learn, and there were so many different stories about how to succeed.

What is a niche?

Dictionary Definition: “A niche in the market is a specific area of marketing which has its own requirements, customers, and products.” Simply put, it is a specific sector within an industry.

A few examples of niches are:-

In this payment scheme, the publisher takes all the risk of running the ad, and the advertiser pays only for the amount of users who complete a transaction, such as a purchase or sign-up.

For example, action can be of any type, it may be filling out a form on destination website or joining e-mail list at destination websites etc.

CPA refers to any campaign where a value is assigned to the acquisition of a lead, sale, subscription, or any predefined “action”.

CPA is most commonly used in affiliate marketing when discussing campaigns that are paying for sales.

This is the best type of rate to pay for banner advertisements and the worst type of rate to charge.

4. CPC: Cost Per Click This is a payment option that compensates a publisher whenever their referred customers click on a link for an advertiser's offer. CPC is also an internet-marketing formula used to price banner ads.

Google adsense is famous example of it.

Some advertisers will pay publishers based on the number of times a banner is clicked.

5. CPS : Cost Per Sale CPS refers to any campaign where an advertiser pays an affiliate for each sale that their traffic produces. If an advertisers’ product sells for $100, they are often willing to pay a

large percentage of each sale that an affiliate generates.

For example, a purchase in a web shop The thought process behind the CPS model is that there is little to no risk for the advertiser, as they are not paying for leads or clicks to their product.

They are only paying a preset value for each sale, and thus do not have to worry about converting leads into sales, or clicks into leads and then those leads into sales. Since quality issues arise fairly infrequently on the CPS model, the main factor determine pay increases for traffic is volume of sales produced.

6. CPL : Cost per Lead.

CPL is an affiliate network’s favorite model to work with. When advertisers purchase leads, they are inherently taking a risk that they can offset lead costs with product sales on their backend.

For example, an advertiser may purchase leads for $5.00 per lead, and sell their product for $100. In order to break even on their lead costs, they will need 1 sale for every 20 leads.

For example, a newsletter subscription Since purchasing leads is typically performance based, if an affiliate can do strong volume with high quality traffic, the advertiser will pay more for the leads.

7. CPI: Cost Per Install The CPI model is a very interesting one. It refers primarily to app install offers.

The advertiser or app owner will pay the affiliate each time a new user installs an App onto their smart phone, tablet, or sometimes desktop.

Often times, the acquisition includes the install, and then the user opening the app for the first time. This model has become gradually more popular as mobile apps have exploded in popularity!

The Bottom Line Although the most popular online advertising model is CPC because of search engines, which one is actually best depends on the ad platform and other factors.

CPMs work best for the publisher because they provide a guaranteed and predictable stream of revenue over the course of the agreement.

CPCs work better than CPMs for the advertisers because they pay only for results in the form of clicks. They represent a higher risk to the publisher.

CPAs work best of all for advertisers because they pay for actual results in the form of either leads or transactions. They represent the highest risk to the publisher.

11. Having A Kick Ass Compelling Offer So, here’s the first thing, understand there are a million and one “Affiliate Offers” out there.

There isn’t scarcity of companies allowing you to promote their products for a profit. It’s a no-brainer to allow people to promote your product or service and share the profits.

Therefore, finding an offer isn’t going to be a problem.

Finding one that converts, that is valuable, credible and something you believe in is what’s most challenging.

Remember, whatever you are promoting is attached to your name and a reflection of yourself and your brand. My number one rule is, don’t promote something that you wouldn’t recommend to your friends and your family.

There are too many offers out there to worry about promoting something that has no credibility just to make a quick buck. Next, you must figure out if it’s a converting offer.

A converting offer means people are going to pull out their wallets, buy it, and put some money in your pocket.

Some questions you should ask yourself are, would you buy the product or service, do you believe in it, and are people already buying what you are promoting or something similar?

An example is, If Apple was paying out affiliate commissions to promote the latest iPhone that would be a no-brainer because you or someone you know is already using it, they believe in it, it provides value, and there is a demand for it in today’s marketplace.

Once you have found an offer that you are comfortable promoting, the next step is learning how to actually sell it! I’m not talking about a few sales here and there?

It’s time to think BIG! Mass Distribution!

Just because you don’t have the risks of a Giant Company, doesn’t mean you can’t think, execute, and profit like one!

12. How To Generate Sales On Autopilot?

What Is A Sales Funnel?

A sales funnel is your automated “Sales Process” which will help you sells the affiliate offer you’re promoting on autopilot. I like to think of it as a team of little mini digital salesmen who work for you around the clock 24/7 365 days a week (Including Holidays), and are continuously closing sales for you putting commissions in your bank account on autopilot.

A sales funnel is like a website on steroids when it comes to selling products or services online.

There is a variety of complicated complex sales funnel processes, but the most common one most successful marketers use consists of 3 simple steps.

The three-step sales funnel consists of the opt-in page, the thank you page, and the sales page. How this works can be broken down very simply, the Opt-in Page is to give away value in exchange for a lead (Name, Email, Phone number, etc.).

You want to give something of value away in exchange for that person's contact info which will allow you to follow up with them later just in case they don’t buy the first go around.

This is called a lead magnet. The second page is called the Thank You Page.

This is where you give them access to the freebie (Lead Magnet) they requested, but also let them know you have a special offer for them on the next page and a call to action telling them to go to the next page to get access.

This will lead them to your offer which is congruent with your lead magnet found on the 3rd step called the Sales Page. This is where your little mini digital salesman comes into play in the form of a Sales letter or Video Sales Letter.

This is where your product is being sold. The lead magnet gets them in the door to sit down for the presentation. Kind of how timeshare companies give away discounted vacations packages if you agree to sit down and attend a timeshare sales presentation.

You're giving someone a gift for them allowing you to pitch or present your offer! It’s called a low ticket front-end offer, with a high ticket back-end upsell.

Now I want you to think about what we just spoke about.

Once I learned and most importantly grasped this concept I was mind blown. Instead of sitting down presenting your product one by one, you can leverage your time and literally send thousands of people through this sales process while this mini sales system is closing commissions for you 24/7.

Hence, how you can make money while you sleep! Incredible, I hope you are starting to understand the power of leveraging these tools for affiliate marketing, and how they can contribute towards BIG MONEY on autopilot!

Also, what’s cool is most Affiliate Offers will have sales funnels already made for you! Now the question is, “Cool I have this team of mini digital salesmen, but how do I get people to attend the presentation?” Great question!

You can have the best offer and sales team in the game, but if they have no prospects to close, no deals are made and no one gets paid! Same goes for Affiliate Marketing!

13. How To Generate Traffic That Converts!

So, I want you to think of the human body. What is the most important part of the human body? The heart of course!

Now have you ever asked yourself the question why we value the heart so much? The reason behind this is because it keeps our blood flowing and our bodies alive!

Generating traffic is essentially the blood flow of affiliate marketing. Just like if the blood flow stops, the body dies. If traffic stops, your affiliate marketing business dies.

Learning to generate traffic is THE MOST IMPORTANT factor of the four and your affiliate

marketing business will either THRIVE or STRUGGLE depending on how well you master generating traffic. A person who has a crappy funnel with tons of traffic will always outperform and make more money than a person with a perfect converting funnel with no traffic.

No prospects, no presentations, no profits! It’s that SIMPLE! There are two main ways to generate traffic which is paid traffic and organic traffic. Both work, and within the two, there are a thousand and one ways to generate traffic.

I can write a whole book longer than this one on the different traffic strategies you can use for affiliate marketing. Find a few methods you like, both organic and paid, master them, profit, and reinvest back into more traffic.

Remember, traffic is your bloodline!

What’s pretty magical is, even if you have $0 to your name, there are free traffic strategies you can apply to generate a massive amount of income with.

Remember, it doesn’t matter if it’s paid or free traffic, you just have to get as many people in front of your sales process as possible.

One thing to consider is all traffic isn’t created equal. Poor traffic is better than no traffic, but if you can produce better quality traffic why not?

There are a few factors which determine whether its poor traffic or kick ass traffic. Number one is where it’s coming from!

Unfortunately, in some countries like Third World Countries, not as many people will be able to afford what you're selling or promoting.

Therefore, you want to make sure when you are promoting your product, you are picking

the First World Countries if you have the option. Also, you should have picked a niche specific offer.

You want to make sure you are putting your offer in front of people who are more inclined to purchase your product or service. It’s called your “Target Audience”.

Example, if I’m looking to promote health and wellness products, I’m going to find ways to get my affiliate offer in front of people who are interested in health and wellness, and in the market purchasing those products and services like that specific offer already.

Targeted Traffic Examples: Instagram Influencer shootouts from people in the health and wellness industry. Facebook ads targeting people with health and wellness likes and interests.

Writing blog posts or making YouTube videos which are health and wellness related topics for free traffic. The list goes on. Just make sure you are putting your offer in front of people interested in the same niche you are promoting.

The objective is to do your research, figure out which traffic methods you like, and figure out how to get really good at them!

14. The Fortunes Is In The Follow-Up They say the average consumer doesn’t make their first purchase with you until the 8th – 10th point of contact. The average person doesn’t even follow up! Let’s go back to what we agreed to earlier.

You said to me that you want to live life on your own terms, be able to live a life of contribution, happiness, and then some! That my friend is not an average lifestyle.

However, that’s fine because you are not average my friend.

How do I know?

Because statistically 9 out of 10 people who get access to this value enriched book aren’t going to even read this far. You, my friend, are a doer and an action taker. With all that being said, if the average person doesn’t follow up, and you’re not average, what does that mean?

I need you to commit to the follow-up process!

That’s where the fortune is made! All the big-time players in this industry, other known as “Super Affiliates” are masters at consistently following up with their list, and providing value and referring congruent products in their niche to generate new business!

The name of the game, which sounds kind of crazy is to break even up front (Make no money up front), build a huge email list, consistently follow up and monetize that list for future profits. Now, you're probably thinking, how the hell am I going to email thousands of people one by one? Again, great question!

Haven’t you figured out us internet marketers are lazy by now? We like to do as little work as possible and make as much money as possible. Unfair? Maybe, but life is unfair haha!

Time to stop complaining and join the party!

No this isn’t spam, the individual subscribed to your list was interested in the type of products you were promoting and offering. So again, as a lazy affiliate marketer, instead of following up one by one like average sales reps do, we write one email, click a button, and BOOM! It gets sent out to thousands of potential buyers.

One email can generate 100’s of sales depending on how big your list is. Cool, isn’t it? A couple $1,000’s for a 15-minute email, not too shabby. What’s even cooler is setting up an “Email follow-up series”. An email follow-up series is when you set up a series of emails that get sent out to your list for a set time period immediately after they opt-in to your list.

Example: Bill here opts into your list to get your free e-book, he gets access to your sales page for a similar $97 product (That you don’t own or didn’t have to create), but doesn’t have time to look at your sales video at the time.

Let’s say you paid $3 for the lead on a Facebook ad. On your 5th email on the 5th day of your 30-day email follow-up series, it was perfect timing and you catch Bill while he’s in his room with no distractions.

He watches your sales video (Mini digital salesman), He sees value in what you are offering, and BOOM! Cha Ching! When you wake up from a nap on the beach in the Bahamas, you check your email and see a $50 commission notification. Things to consider are the traffic is automated, the sales process is automated, and the follow-up is automated!

What’s so cool is you’re relaxing somewhere on a beautiful island and you just invested $3 for a $50 pay out! AND IT’S ALL AUTOMATED! If your mind is blown right now it’s ok, the first time I learned about this process I asked myself the question “Is this legal?”.

Yes, it is legal, and if you don’t take advantage of affiliate marketing you should go to jail for not taking part in these profitable activities!

A relative newcomer that was only founded in 2014, ConvertKit has taken the world of email marketing by storm. According to the company, they now have nearly 20,000 active customers of their email services.

5. Berush Affiliate Program

This is the affiliate program for SEMrush.com which is an all in one marketing toolkit for digital marketing professionals. They claim to be the world's leading competitive research service for online marketing.

As an affiliate you can earn 40% recurring commissions on initial sales and all further subscription renewals. They also offer a 10 year cookie life and two payments per month.

6. Long Tail Pro Affiliate Program

This affiliate program is run via the ClickBank network so you need to become a member on there first. Once you do, you can earn 30% recurring commissions on all your referrals (their plans start at $25 per month).

Long Tail Pro provide a system for finding targeted keywords and calculating keyword competitiveness for any niche.
