Texture, texture, texture - we?re seeing some amazing lace with 3-d embellishments, beaded clusters or layers of contrasting patterns of lace neon used.
So long strapless, well not entirely but designers are offering a range of neckline options that goes beyond the traditional sweetheart, v-neck or spaghetti strap look. The plunging neckline, illusion neckline, off the shoulder and even a high bateau neckline (thanks Meghan Markle) are providing so many figure flattering choices for brides to choose from.
What are the top groom fashion trends for 2020?
Custom suits with impeccable tailoring and a slim fit
Bow ties, we?ve seen an uptick in formality and our favorite bow tie looks compliment the textured theme in bridal gowns with non-traditional fabrics of velvet, jacquard, or a fantastic print
How has technology impacted wedding fashion for 2020?
Technology has enabled us the ability to offer additional customization on wedding dresses for brides. It has allowed us the ability to have a seamless partnership with our design and production partners and showcase sketches, increased fabric options and custom fabric options in real time. It supports the trend of personalization that couples are gravitating towards in their wedding planning choices in regards to their wedding day attire and accessories for both the bride and groom.
Bridal Party Style
Emilia Ridealgh of Rock the Frock predicts...
Various styles of the same colour are still popular for wedding parties, as it is becoming increasingly important to the bride that her bridesmaids feel comfortable in what they are wearing. Therefore, the colour and fabric is often the same for each bridesmaid, but the style different. Prints and lace will not be as prominent in 2020, as the wedding party will opt for more structured fabrics combined with crepe fabrics of one block colour.
Ranu Coleman of Azazie predicts...
Sapphire and Navy Blue is definitely going to be the hue of the year. It?s bold and traditional at the same time. The modern bridesmaids are opting for a minimalist look that can go from bridal party dress code to ready to wear anytime with lots of satin and silk.
Brittny Drye of Love Inc. Magazine predicts...
The last several years have seen soft, flowy bridesmaid dresses, but 2020 collections had a lot of structured silhouett es.
Velvet is rising in popularity, particularly for fall/winter weddings.

The impact of tech on fashion
Erin Cole of Erin Cole Design says...
Technology has shown very beautiful patterns in 3D. Some of the cut out flowers and fabrics that are laser cut are absolutely incredible. I'm also a huge fan of beading and some of those patterns are created through expensive very technical machinery. They might start out very light and move into very heavy beaded patterns. It may include different layers of beading being added throughout, in a delicate flower pattern or a modern repetitive design.
Emilia Ridealgh of Rock the Frock says...
For the modern bride looking for something unique, platforms such as instagram and Pinterest have opened up the opportunity for emerging bridal designers to showcase their talents, and be reached freely on the constantly growing platforms. After all, technology allows current trends to stay current -as the online buzz is created, which sees trends stick for the season.
Brittny Drye of Love Inc. Magazine says...
More soonlyweds are buying their dresses through online retailers such as Anomalie, so you're not having that salon shopping experience that has been the tradition, and it's forcing big-box brick-and-mortar retailers to evolve.
What's Out
Brittny Drye of Love Inc. Magazine says...
Feeling like you "have" to abide by tradition. Couples are choosing outfits that suit their own personal style instead of what they feel like they "should" wear.
Emilia Ridealgh of Rock the Frock says...
Its worth mentioning that as Brexit is looming having more than one wedding outfit for your special day, is becoming a thing of the past- as brides are looking to keep the cost down in a time of uncertainty. This has meant many women have skipped having a veil, and are opting for a cape. Which is a more versatile accessory, that could be taken off in the evening. Favourably, high low silhouettes and floral hair looks are officially no more! Hoorah!
Cecilia Di Vita of Heart AFlutter Bridal says...

I think right now in bridal..... anything goes, Its really one of the great things about bridal...inspirations can be pulled from all era's which is what allows brides the freedom of having their own style on their wedding day. Brides are not really worrying about what is in or out, there is a large array of style emerging throughout the industry right now. I don't know if anything can stop it!
