“We incorporated elements of traditional Indian weddings in our celebration. We hosted a mehndi (henna) night the night before the wedding and incorporated some traditional celebrations such as a haldi ceremony and garba (folk dance) at that event. We also wore traditional Indian clothing and had close family and friends perform dances, which is very typical in Indian weddings.
