“We incorporated elements of traditional Indian weddings in our celebration. We hosted a mehndi (henna) night the night before the wedding and incorporated some traditional celebrations such as a haldi ceremony and garba (folk dance) at that event. We also wore traditional Indian clothing and had close family and friends perform dances, which is very typical in Indian weddings. We also had the chef include some Indian-influenced cuisine.”
