한국계 혈통을 가진 우수한 학생으로서, 2018년 봄에 고등학교를 졸업하며 2018년 가을학기에 대학교 또는 대학에 입학이 확정된 학생이어야 한다.

콜로라도 주에 거주하는 한국계 혈통을 지닌 자로서 미국 시민권 혹은 영주권자이거나 유학생 신분을 제외한 합법적인 신분(부모가 E2인 경우는 가능함)이어야 한다.

에세이(Essay)를 작성해서 제출해야 한다. 분량은 약 500단어 이상으로, 영어 또는 한글로 써도 된다. 에세이 내용에는 학생의 장래 목표, 현재의 학교활동과 과외활동을 통한 리더십 경험, 지역사회에서의 봉사활동 등을 나타내면 된다.

최종 GPA는 3.5 또는 그 이상이어야 한다.

교사 추천서를 제출해야 한다. 추천서는 지역사회 봉사활동, 학교활동, 과외활동 등을 통해 리더십을 발휘해 타인의 모범이 되는 학생인 것을 담은 내용이면 된다.

2018년 3월 31일까지(must post marked by 03/31/18) 장학 수혜자 신청서(Scholarship Application)와 위 사항에 필요한 서류를 함께 아래 주소로 제출해야 한다. Scholarship Application은 각 신문사에서 얻거나 혹은 아래 전화로 연락하여 받을 수 있다. 위 제출된 모든 서류는 학생에게 반환되지 않는다.

2018 Education Scholarship Awards Purpose
The purpose of the Rocky Mountain Korean Lions Club’s Educational Scholarship is to provide undergraduate educational scholarship funds to graduating high school students who are Korean descendants and also are interested in pursuing higher education. The amount of the scholarship shall be $500.00 per recipient and we are anticipating awarding at least ten (10) students.
Eligibility
This Scholarship is limited to only Korean descendant students with be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident or E-2 VISA. The applicants must be high school seniors who are planning to be enrolled four years program at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2018 in U.S.A.
Guidelines and Instructions
1. Applicant must submit an essay approximately 500 words on goals, aspirations, leadership position, school activities, and plans for achieving those goals. Include any volunteer activities that are demonstrated community services. The essay may be written in English or Korean language and should be typed. 2. Require one letter of recommendation should be stressed the applicant’s academic abilities, leadership qualities, and community services. (Letter of recommendation must be signed by the teacher or student advisor or principal or assistant principal or counselor who recommended the student) 3. Applicant must submit an official transcript of all cumulative high school’s academic records that included unweighted GPA and weighted GPA score. Unweighted GPA score is above 3.5 (Included SAT scores or ACT scores and latest H.S. class rank) 4. Must submit a copy of acceptance letter from an accredited university or college for academic year 2018-2019. Applicant must attend college or university on full-time student. 5. Applicant must submit a copy of US passport or US citizenship certificate or green card (alien card) or E-2 VISA document. 6.
